Manufacture of the first Saudi-Brazilian turbo jet engine

Yep. I just tagged him to point to an insider 'joke' ... literally everything I say on Quwa, it seems the likes of UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt etc, are doing it (e.g., working with Brazil, Ukraine, etc), while Pakistan is either silent (for a good reason, or because it's not taking advantage of these opportunities. or can't for reasons outside of its control).

It is a licence product, if you give them billions of dollar you could make it pup out. To big for a cruisemissile, not enough power to use in uav. Old generation engine. Good luck...

Wrong website, they specifically list it as for cruise missiles. And you have no way of knowing if its licensing or TOT, the latter which is more likely. "licensing" would not take over a few years, it would take months.

Not sure if the engine matters that much for range. It does, but a cruise missile is basically an aircraft, so the more room you have for fuel, the longer the range. Of course, there's probably also a max weight engines of varying sizes and power output can handle. I do think Pakistan is making a turbojet in-house, with so many cruise missiles and now a high speed target drone, it'd make a lot of sense.
If you add more fuel , it will also add more weight and than you need a slightly more powerful engine.

Pakistan does need to do some JV with china, turkey with help of private sector so gov has to pour less investment.

With Projects and needs Pakistan even a small continues project will help in many aviation fields.

One thing which triggers me is why Pakistan is not taking Space Race seriously.

IT will the be the game changer for future of Pakistan. I can bet if Pakistan invest in Sparco rather than searching oil it will give more benefits in future

The project is a structural design of jet engines with the processing, supply and installation of its test platforms, to reach the test building and analysis of the overall performance of all turboprop engines, by national cadres trained and qualified in cooperation with the Brazilian company Turbo Machine to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the "Vision Saudi Arabia 2030" . The test engine building consists of two test platforms with a double control room, where the building is designed with modern specifications with soundproof walls to reduce the noise level to the lowest level within the perimeter of the building, and the control room is equipped with full digital touch screens and connected to 60 channels high-speed To transfer data from the test platform to the displays, in addition it is equipped with double and bulletproof windows. Note that this building will be located in the research station of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in the eye and a total area of 10,000 square meters.
Highlights:. Finished designs and blueprints needed to set up a test building
Fully jet engines. • Receive all components (control system and data collection units)
Sensors, connectors, displays) test building.

If SA got the intellectual property of it, I would just say, ''Well done,'' This would be great for them. You can produce more and more subsystems in SA and sell it as you wish... But other than that, I am gonna tell you my honest opinion. This looks too good to be true.
Let me give you an example. TEI was established in 1975. But their one of the most famous work happened after 1980's... In 80's F-16 came to TuAF. Turkish newspapers write about F-16 a lot, and they told Turkish Socialty that Turkey produce all this F16's in Turkey. ''First Turkish Made Jet: F16''
They said, ''look we even produce engine in Turkey. A Turkish Company, TEI produce it...''
But of course it was too good to be true. Because it wasn't the truth. We just assamble it, we couldn't produce it our own wish. We couldn't sell it. And if US emborgo us, it would be a great problem for us. This engines wasn't ours. But of course it must be felt good to believe it was Turkish made...
And I believe, it is the same for SA... Sure it must be good to think, they produce all in SA... but most probably realty is different.

@Turan09
Could be lies but this states all IP is in hands of Saudis. If true wouldn't that most likely allow exports?
EKEL3-SWoAMmuxT.jpg:large
If they really get the IP rights. Right, in theory you can export it. But, like I said, It looks to good to be true. States won't give up their IP rights so easly... And engine technology is so valuable.
We will see it in future if SA, successfully integrated it with a cruise missile... Only time will tell.

KSA has setup some sort of MRO of turbojets. I will post tweets explanation under each picture.

One of the most important technical processes for repairing engine parts is the grinding process of repairing the engine's core blades.
The workshop has an electrochemical grinding machine and a machine specializing in the lapping process, which helps grind carbon-made pieces.

Update me on a list of aircrafts this engine is supposed to fitted with so I can avoid flying on them.

You stupid or something? Its made specifically for cruise missiles.

What can Sri Lanka make? A pair of shoes maybe?

@Turan09
It seems production could be handed over to MEPC which has been servicing engines for a fairly long time. Those images up there are of MEPC facilities, and logical step would be mass production at an established center like that.

It seems that a lot of people in this thread have forgotten about the fact that KSA has the best ranked universities in the entire Muslim world, that KSA spends more on education than any other Muslim country (both in terms of the actual sum and the percentage of the state budget, almost 10%), that 100.000’s (if not over 1 million by now) nationals have degrees from leading universities in the World, that 10.000’s of Saudi Arabians are working home and abroad in every imaginable technical field and for world-renowned firms spanning from NASA, Aramco to Novo Nordisk.

Not to forget tons of money (KEY) to invest with and one of the yougest populations in the world (no lack of local manpower like in some smal GCC states).

That and tons of money being invested in establishing a succesful and vibrant local arms industry. This is just the beginning. Tons of strategic projects are being worked on spanning from nuclear energy to jet engines to ballistic missiles. Some in the mainstream news, otters not.

Another huge step forward.
