Featured Madrassahs and Mosques Announce Protest on Govt Decision to Reveal Sources of Income

Because Muslims bad and terrorists everywhere. General suspicion is a good thing now. Meanwhile USA can fund gender studies (= leftist theology) in Pakistan and no one bats an eye. Great!

When the finances of NGOs and haramkhoor politicians are 100% transparent for the public eye, then you can talk about mosque funding and evil madrassas.

This was bound to happen when populist puppets go to UN and talk about fascist ideologies terming them as enlightened moderation.

Lahore yes, but its in Gulshan-e-Ravi and there is no shortage of such mosques / molvi's in our country.

Why are you sexist about it? There are enough Maulanis in the country too

Well done. Pakistan should end any Foreign funded extremism.

This alone can help Pakistan prosper and regain the internal security to the possible maximum level. This is a very good news. Shia/Sunni Christian/Jewish everyone should be responsive to the government. Well done

Wifaqul Madaris Al-Arabia – the apex body of seminaries at the federal level – has announced a protest in Islamabad on January 26 regarding amendments in Waqf Property Act, reported Express Tribune.
The announcement came with a statement from the body terming the amendments as ‘infringement’ on the freedom of mosques and seminaries.
The Act requires mosques and seminaries to disclose their source of income and the identities of the donors.
Wifaqul Madaris Nazim, Maulana Qazi Abdul Rashid, demanded the government to withdraw amendments in Waqf Property Act.

Addressing a presser at Jamat-e-Islami office, he said, “The amendments in Waqf Property Act infringe the freedom of mosques and seminaries.”

“The freedom of madrassas and mosques was being curtailed at the behest of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and other powers,” Qazi said, adding that if the government did not withdraw new provisions in the Act, they would start the second phase of the movement.

Qazi said that questioning donors of mosques and seminaries are tantamount to harassing them. He said, “We are ready to give expenditure details of madrassas but will not open our accounts in banks.”
He also said that they wanted a one-window operation for the registration of madrassas. However, the procedure of registration with the government has not yet been finalized.

It would finally show how corrupt they are getting money from maulana Fazlur rahman and Saudi Arabia.

Great move but unfortunately the corrupt will protest this and call it attack on the Islam. Pakistanis really need to stop trying to justify the corrupt leaders by redirecting to other corrupt practices. Every issue needs to be addressed, and this is a issue. Doesn't matter if it is forced on us or not, corruption exist and we need to eradicate it. Unfortunately like many other issues, people will not see the real purpose of this and come up with million conspiracies.

Good move!

Perhaps PTI should set an example by finally disclosing its own foreign and local source of funding :rolleyes1:
It has disclosed them you didnt even bother listening to court reporters who reported the full proceedings
All the money they get come from the banks. Government prints the money but has no record of it?

Why must mosques and madressahs be subjected to guilty until proven innocent jungle law?
Again worry more about blm monkeys and proud boys

Any masjid or madrrssah which collects donations must be registered with government as a non-taxed organizations.

Bunch of thieves,
Although I appreciate the good work they do,
But, they are not apart from the society, they've had enough freedoms,
It is high time they joined the mainstream, and learnt to follow the rules.

Well, I see broke mullah roaming in Toyota SUV with 8 guards.....who is funding them... public has right to know ...and now FATF.

Anyone who is taking public money is answerable to the public.

Charity funding has to be 100% transparent - that is a basic principle of charity finance.
