The new model of the Falaj 3 combatant OPVs that was unveiled during NAVDEX exhibition. EDR On-Line understood this being the latest design of the ships, however no additional information were released by the shipyard or the customer. Designed to have a reduced radar cross section, infrared and acoustic signatures, compared to the initial model shown during the previous 2021 edition of IDEX/NAVDEX, it features a new ship forward section which accommodates behind the 76/62 mm main gun a single row of eight vertical launchers for surface-to-air missile. EDR On-Line identified them as belonging to the MBDA VL MICA system, although no comment or confirms come from the shipyard and missile manufacturer..

Some additional information about the Falaj 3 project for the UAE Navy:

1- The Ship will carry four engines with four independent propellers to be able to exceed a speed of 26 knots, and it will have a range of 2,000 nautical miles at a speed of 16 knots.

2- The Ship will carry the combat program of the new Leonardo ATHENA C Mk2 CMS and will be customized for the UAE Navy, which will be based on the combat program for Ships such as the PPA of the Italian Navy.

3- It seems that it has become the UAE Navy’s new standard choice for the front gun, as the Ships will carry the 76/62 Super Rapido cannon of the Strales kit type, which will carry DART guided missiles.

4 - The radar will be the new entrant to the Kronos family from Leonardo, of the Kronos NV type, but under the name HP, which will carry a larger number of receivers and transmitters than its predecessor, and thus a greater range than its predecessor.

5- The Ships will carry the same electronic warfare applications from Elettronica, which includes the Jamming Antenna Sub System family for jamming.

6- When they leave, the Ships will carry Mica NG VL air defense missiles, as well as Raytheon Mk 49 RAM l air defense missiles.

Bluebro, I haven't seen much of the UAE Airshow this year, nothing actually. Was there anything of note at all? Or was it the usual demos by Rafale & company? Has the Raptor ever done a flight demonstration at that airshow? What about the Su-57? Did they at least have a static exhibit of that aircraft or I'm guessing they must've done something with the Checkmate, right?
