Leon Panetta "Worthy Fights" about Ops Neptune spear

Hir
" sir, there are 5 goats pasing below, sir there are 10 goats and 2 shepherds pasing below, sir there are 7 taliban passing below, sir there are two unknown helicopters flying by below with no markings"---.

This script is part of a conversation carried out by front line op's stationed at the peak of the mountain pass with their base command.

What Panneta conveniently forgets is about who helped when the first helicopter had left leaving behind 8 operators for 1/2 hour plus on the ground for the rescue aircraft to show up.
sir in our history there are three great political and military blunders which changed many things for us in -ve way, 1971,joining collation after 9/11 and Ops Neptune spear.

Might be the best decision you've made in a generation. We already knew you were hiding him. We already knew you were double-crossing us. What do you think we'd have done if you'd fired at those choppers?

If Pakistan didn't want to be humiliated, they shouldn't have provided sanctuary to Bin Ladin. You could have killed him and been the heroes of the WoT but you chose to play it this way.

It was you wwho deceived us. you had him in the cross hairs of the drone for one and half hour at kandhar and you let him go, you had him at tora bora forv24 hours and you letnhim go, you had him 2 other times in afg and you let him go.

A drama was created to catch obl with Kiyani as a partner. This book is just s cover up.

Joining after 9 11 was not a blunder. The blunder was not going all out against the terrs due to the stupidity of the pakistani public.

Sir all TTP scums gathered and united, propagated there venomous agenda into public in shadow of our nose but we were sitting until they attacked our Army and when we responded until then they have collected enough of there breed. In case kiyani was actor of Drama Air chief must also have been part of that.

It was you wwho deceived us.
sir they deliberately never tried to kill or stop those who were coming to Pakistan, just to draw us in,when they gave free hand to India they knew India would create problems for Pakistan, but these problems were so they desired.

If American troops had a shot at him at Tora Bora they would have killed them. Which American officer would not want to kill Osama Bin laden and get a promotion ?

why is Op Neptune Spear a blunder ?

There were 35 of them---cowards---35 rangers who saw obl disapearing into the pass---the cowards would not follow him and take him out or die pursuing him. Just stayed back waiting for FURTHER ORDERS.

And this is on record 60 minutes-------so dont asume.

Sir,

About time you accepted that you as a nation had no clue what to do in a crisis.

Assuming what you say is true following orders does not make them cowards. they are among the most capable infantry units in the US army

they might read up " charge of the light brigade ".

What glorius death that woulbd have been for the rangers. Would have gone down in the books of history for eternity---an honor bestowed on the legacy of the rangers for history to remember-----but sadly they chose cowardice---just waited for the excuse.

If there was one moment to defy tge order---that was the moment. The murderer of 3000 americans was escaping---what better moment to set the record straight.

First of all they weren't rangers. They were SFOD-D operator along with the British SBS. They were straight up denied of every way to kill OBL. For example Dalton Fury wanted to come up from the mountains of Pakistan to get a drop upon Osama where he would least expect them to, Delta also wanted to drop land mines, but again denied. At the end Osama was egressing into Pakistan Dalton Fury wanted to use 300 army rangers to block his escape route, but that was denied also. Army Bureaucracy at its finest.

Also, we shouldn't have trusted those rag-tag Afghan militia that set up a bogus ceasefire with Al-Qaeda. They should of been wiped out afterwards for collaborating with Al-Qaeda.

Quit BSing, bud. The mark of disciplined army is following orders. If you'd finished reading Charge of the Light Brigade, you'd know the line "theirs not to reply, theirs not to reason why". Oh by the way, you might want to consider translating it in your language. Your guys are dropping bombs and firing heavy artillery inside your own country. I think they need your kind of inspiration.

Hi,

It is fascinating to see so many flag waving members jump in.

Who did not know that Hazrat Ali would not take money from OBL to let him escape. Who did not know that any afghan would b take mkney to let criminals escape.

As for the SF that was their moment to shine----their sacrifice would have started a reaction well worth the Martyrdom. Now he can only sit in the interview chair and vent.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. It was cowardice and not discipline that stopped the team leader, theirs but to do and die.

That sacrifice would have put the general command go shame and it would have ben well worth it.

The last part of your post is not clear, please write in english and i can reply in an appropriate manner.

The truth, the complete & unvarnished truth about OBL/Op. Neptune Spear is not out thus far. Those who know are not yet writing books.

This is my problem. The commander went to an extreme to kill Osama Bin Laden, but someone up the chain of command pretty much denied his request. Someone up the chain of command let him escape along with those untrustworthy Afghan militia.

Ah well, he's dead now and all we have to do now is kill or capture Al-Zawahiri. Hope ISI can whack him if he's in Pakistan.

My village name is "Thandiani" google it you will know its location. And the whole Abbottabad city is visible down below from where my house stands in Thandiani, especially PMA.

The crap we have been sold about this whole episode is such an insult to human intelligence. The choppers can go undetected taking cover of mountains or terrain and whatever, but I can bet you one thing once those choppers entered Abbottabad city there is no way our forces did not know of their presence. Or the populace did not know there are choppers flying in the city. They were headed right towards the PMA location and you want us to believe Pakistani forces were fast asleep at that time. Were the choppers noiseless too?

That area (compound) was immediately cordoned off by Pakistani forces, a chopper crashes and you have zero to none causalities surprising, US created a boogeyman and got rid of it in a very idiotic way. US President watched the whole op via sort of video link along with his team, so show the world that you really killed OBL there. What is so discreet about it now, world knows he is dead, show the evidence if not the world at least to the families of innocent people who got killed in WTC.
