You have to qualify this statement

The Tejas is actually the most modern in south Asia in several key areas

The first with carbon composite airframe
The only fighter with a quadruplex FBW system
The lowest radar cross section of any fighter in south asia by some distance

how many are in operational squadron and what is the production rate of Tejas per year and how many squadrons it has to replace?

The Daggers Squadron has 10 Tejas now RISING to 12 by December this year AND 16 by August 2019 with 4 twin seaters as training planes like these with each squadron

The production rate is currently 8 per year this year

12 PER year next as the second factory starts production

By 2020 it will 16 tejas each year from 2 factories.

India will have 40 tejas mark 1 by 2020-21

And further 83 more by 2027 of the AESA equipped mark 1a

The Tejas is replacing 125 mig21 bisons this project will be done by 2026-2027

Only 40 r confirmed right now,,,20 in IOC configuration n nxt 20 in FOC configuration,depending on if n when they get FOC,so there is no fixed timeline,,,n though IAF has shown intent to purchase mk1a based on the big promises of our dpsus,its nowhere near n will probably take another decade to qualify for production

is it really possible to manufacture 125 jets by 2027 with 10 operational as of September 2018?

110-115 jets in 8 years?
