Meeting held with CM Shehbaz on scope of the mega project
Lahore: A meeting was held with Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Shareef at CM House on Sunday, 28th February 2016 to discuss the changes in the scope of the PKLI construction plan.
Mr. Najam Shah, Secretary Health Punjab and Prof Dr. Saeed Akhter, President PKLI briefed the CM on the scope of the three packages in which the project is divided that is Package A, Package B, Package C and progress of work done so far. They also apprised the CM on the revised designs and budget distribution.
The CM also met with Mr. David Hadley who shared his views on the project and provided his support in the areas of Biomedical Planning.
Mr. David Hadley who is a Biomedical Engineer was visiting Pakistan from Saudi Arabia to know the project in detail and share his expertise. He said the project is a big initiative by the Government of Punjab and will play a vital role in raising the overall standards of health care in Pakistan.
Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said that with the setting up of Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Center, latest treatment facilities would be available to the patients of kidney and liver under one roof and free treatment facilities would be provided to the poor, deserving and destitute patients.
He said that Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute would be a masterpiece with regard to medical science, clinical research, medical and public health facilities.
He vowed that the completion of Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute will result in provision of facility of kidney and liver transplant and this institute would among the best in the world.
Khawaja Salman Rafique, Advisor Health Punjab, officials from the NESPAK and other government officials were also present during the meeting
