One militant killed, two cops wounded in South Kashmir ambush

Srinagar: A militant was killed and two members of the counter-insurgency Special operations Group (SOG) of the state police were wounded in a guerrilla ambush in south Kashmir Pulwama district late on Monday evening, police said.

A police officer told IANS that the militant was killed and two personnel of the SOG were injured when guerrillas ambushed an SOG patrol at Neloura village of Pulwama district on Monday evening, 45 km from Srinagar.

"The exact details are being ascertained," the officer said.

Update: 2 militants were involved in the attack,one of them has been killed and the other injured.
They opened fire from UBGL's and AK's.
Search Ops on to apprehend him.
Both SOG operatives have been admitted to hospital.

The killed militant is from Shopian.
