(Web Desk) –

Government of Japan has agreed to issue a grant of $4.46 million to install Facial Recognition System at three key airports in Pakistan to better security.

The grant that reportedly has been approved by Japan International Cooperation Agency aims at improving security at Multan International Airport in Multan, Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and Benazir International Airport in Islamabad.

Last year the Japanese government provided a grant of 200 Yen for security improvements that included installation of X-ray scanning devices at Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore airports.

The $4.46 million grant has been provided to Pakistan under ‘Economic and Social Development Program’ of Japan for developing countries.

What if this system has a backdoor to give access to the Japanese state agencies.?

Or to American Agencies

I would imagine with surveillance tech like this that the *if* part is pretty much a given. They aren't suddenly handing you a grant so they can get their machines in quickly for no reason. I'm sure the rationale by Western intelligence is to beat the Chinese to supplying security stuff to world airports since they know the Chinese would implement the same spying thing you mentioned and have a coup with personal data intelligence.
