What's new

Japan hits Russia with more sanctions over Ukraine.

The sanctions so far have silenced Russia over Syria.

Previously, mighty Russia had sent its warships to Syria to stop any US-lead campaign to topple Assad. But not this time.
why we should intervene let america go there so we can go to Ukraine

Why are people surprised? Japan is part of west and our interests are not with russia and Crimea is a clear proof of that. Instead of getting involved with the mess in middle east, we should seriously deal with russia's aggression and have them accountable for their actions.

@flamer84, are our recent round of sanctions having any affect on Russia from an eastern european perspective?
japan is not part of the west, its only brainwashed by their leaders. Japanese burned their entire own harbor when westerners arrived in bakumatso era thats how much they didnt want to internationalize. You neither part of the west, youre a pakistani. Get some reality check

Yes Japan might be small geographically, but its an economic/technological Giant. Size is not all that matters in life. Human skill/knowledge is way more important bro. If not how do you explain that my country which is even smaller in population than Japan(less than half) with similar landsize, was able to colonize half the whole world, India(a country of over a billion), take hong kong from China, colonize much of Asia(Malaysia,Singapore,Burma, Australia,) even the U.S, Canada and the list goes on and on....:enjoy::P.
So Size isn;t always everything. In fact China with a population of a billion plus people, about 9 times Japans population and more than 10 times its land mass, with huge natural resources still has barely just twice Japans GDP.:cheesy::disagree:. This shows just how unproductive/ Inefficient China is(though its also due to the Maos CCP past folly.lol). So if anything China should have at least 5 times Japans GDP to even be considered a little bit up to its potential. Its for this reason i believe China will overtake the U,S in coming decades economically. Not because of the communist party brillance, skill or whatever, but because when you start from such a low base down(and have at least a little bit decent government who allows its citizens to trade freely and just gives a helping hand) then the only direction is up and up.....:D Im sure with a different government(say KMT). China will be doing even better.:agree::bounce:
You are wrong,Chinais aresource-poorcountry.

What?? China is a resource poor country?? :o:
Do you even know your country well bro? o_O
China is among the top 12 largest oil producers in the world, its the largest producer of coal in the world, it also has the largest shale gas reserve in the world(bigger than even mighty U. S who is a pioneer in this), it also produces over 90percent of rare earth metals. plus they even discovered more oil/gas in south China sea. etc.. ...
Japan has little or none of all these, and is located on a tectonic landscape prone to earthquakes and other natural disasters, plus Japan is even need densely populated than China giving its small landscape. Etc.

So no China isn't poor in natural resources, but I admit due to its huge population its barely enough to satisfy their demand. But China is far from being a resource poor country. Japan yes. :bunny:
But Japan is still more advance /productive than both China and Russia despite all these. :taz::victory1:

Lool Japan is all but part of the west. It's only an Asian country by geography tbh. Japan considers itself more western than Asian (yes I have been there a few times, I can attest to this). This doesn't means they have taken or want to copy our culture /way of life. Japan has kept /preserved its tradition quite well with a mix of western style but it's still very much Japanese culture that dominates. Japan is still for now the most advanced country in Asia and its the only Asian country who is part of the G7 . So they are all but part of our camp now, and that won't change anytime soon no matter how Russia and China whine/cry.:enjoy:
Japanese sanctions on Russia and the calling off of Putin's visit is a prove of this. Japan has made the right choice as I said, Russia doesn't have anything to offer Japan, contrary to we in the west /U. S. :p::bunny:

So? why isnt korea making any sanctions, japan is not a sovereign country. Japan could afford to say no but abe is a bad president who follows Americas interests instead of that of his country. LLLOOOOOLLLL Russia has more to offer to Japan than UK, Britain is a backwards country.
You have lower manufacturing output than we do, you have no natural resources, you have massive debt and trade imbalances. Russian IT business is bigger than UKs. What has Uk to offer other than finance? Nothing, you dont produce anything. Thats why even Scotland almost left your country while crimea joined us to 94%.
South korea grows more than japan soon they will surpass japan, there are countless regions who are wealthier in asia (taiwan, hong kong, macau, singapore, brunei, gulf countries).

They have an effect but not enough to make Russia desist from her actions in Ukraine.IMO,sanctions should be a lot tougher.

What more can they sanction on? This will only set back a strong initiative by the Japanese PM to normalize ties after so many years.

I'm sure our Russian friends are willing to work with us in our common and mutual interests, despite some minor setbacks. Afterall, in any relationship, there are always some hiccups.

Huh....bro, which interests does Russia has with japan? Little or none tbh. Lool
You can keep trading with each other though. Since thats what most countries do nowadays even ennemies/rivals like Japan-China(trade more than any countdy in the region), China-U.S Trade, malaysia-singapore trade etc....
So nobody(not even the U.S Jas any issies with japan expanding its trade with russia, but to talk of common interests/alignement. Lool theres is little or none.

Japanese governemnt isnt foolish, ghey know this, reason they imposed further sanctions on Russia for its continous support to its seperatists fighters in ukraine. Moreover russia and japan are still technically at war with each other since they never signed a peace treaty after the war, and russian regularly conducts military drills on japanese clsimed islands its seized and near japans coasts etc.... List is longggggg

We still import energy supplies from them. I'd like to see our side keep that open. Besides, there's no reason to put enmity where there is none.
