RSS national executive member Indresh Kumar on Saturday condemned the alleged incident of vandalism at a temple in Bangladesh and urged India to intervene, saying the Sheikh Hasina government has "completely failed" in protecting the minority Hindus there. He also appealed to the Congress and all other opposition parties to condemn the incident rising above "politics of religion and caste" and join New Delhi in building pressure on Dhaka to stop attacks on Hindus, which he said continues to remain "unabated" in the neighbouring country.

Kumar, founder and chief patron of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, also called upon the "Muslim society" to condemn the attack.

According to reports, a mob of over 200 people allegedly attacked the devotees and vandalised ISKCON Radhakanta temple in Dhaka late on Thursday.

"The attack was carried out at ISKCON Radhakanta temple at 222 Lal Mohan Saha Street in Wari, Dhaka, on Thursday evening by a mob of more than 200 people led by Haji Saifullah. The temple was ransacked and looted," Kumar said in message to PTI and described the incident "a form of terrorism."

On every festival, Hindus are targeted in Bangladesh under a "pre-planned conspiracy", the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader said, adding that the community has faced 3,679 attacks, which include 1,678 cases of armed attacks and vandalism at religious places, in the last nine years.

A mob of 200 people allegedly vandalised the ISKCON Radhkanta temple in Bangladesh's Dhaka on Thursday, news agency ANI reported. This comes a few months after attacks on religious places in the country. Indian government sources told ANI the High Commission in Dhaka is in touch with the authorities there.

Citing a few incidents, he said, "During Navaratri last year, attacks were carried out and around 200 houses of Hindus were burnt, Durga Puja pandals were vandalised and the ISKCON temple in Dhaka was also attacked.

"The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina government has completely failed in providing protection to minority Hindus in Bangladesh. It is a horrifying situation," he alleged.

Seeking the intervention of the Indian government, Kumar said due to the "unabated targeting of Hindus" in the neighbouring country, the population of Hindus there has "come down to 9 per cent from 29 per cent in 1971".

"The Congress and all other opposition parties should also condemn the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan, and join the Government of India in building pressure on the neigbouring countries to put a complete check on such atrocities. The Muslim society should also condemn such incidents," he added.

Regular occurrence unfortunately, as minority they are powerless.. lots of poor Muslims are in the same boat as them...

It's nothing to do with Hinduism, they're just easy picking for criminals who just haopen to be Hindu.

Still a vile act nonetheless... Shouldn't be politicised though... Some BNP turncoat fokirpuiras are taking this thread another way though

Bangladesh ke niye baaje Kotha na bolle oi bedar ghum ashe na, troubled creature
How about you? Did you also vandalize Temples many times? I will not be surprised if you did so. Islamic Paradise is waiting for your kind of bickering people where sane people would not like to go and share the place with you.

The world should get rid of your kind of Fatawabaz idiots.

Now at least BAL should come to it's sense anf declare these swines enemy of Bangladesh overtly.

India is making an excuse of military intervention IMHO!

proving the people who say Bangladeshi Hindus are fifth columnists right....
But do they really consider majority of Hindus as fifth columnist? I don't think so brother!

Some are fifth columnists indeed; not only Hindus but also some Muslims born in low family!

Fifth columnists come in all shades.. even the mullahs who call Hindus fifth columnists are themselves fifth columnists as they're funded and used by external actors to destroy peace and harmony in the Bangladeshi society.

Hell, there's even a Japanese hentai-kun fifth columnists amongst us here

Local police say the allegations of assault are not correct. The old wall collapsed while a party claiming ownership of the land was carrying out renovation work there.

we should put communal thugs within BD in positions of power and give them ministries , following the example set forward by BISHWA GORU suprapowa !
That'll teach em !

As a non-practicing hindu, I have zero sympathy. I don't care if temples are broken or if masjids are destroyed. Don't remember when I last went to any temple or any religious place. religion is for scums and religious people are the worst type in this world.
This is a tyrannical view.

Kire faridpuira amar ek Kotha e tui chete geli ? Eto sensitive ? Palta jowab Judi hojom hoina taile abal sabal bolos ken ?

Btw, I don't believe in attacking other people beliefs or their temples.. I also don't sell my culture or belief for foreign passport.
So, where is your Kuwaiti flag? And why are you rejoining this forum with a white German flag? Bloody blocky Nomu!! Learn civility in a discussion forum. You always make personal attacks.

And Mosques and Chruches. We need to follow Atheism just like China
I hope Indian people do not share this type of totalitarian view. Religion is not only about the belief in God. It is very important for culture and contributes to social fellowship within communities. It is only a problem when people of one religious denomination feel compelled to moderate the character of another. Free societies should evolve the maturity to overcome this primal instinct. But turning to totalitarianism is regressive

Atheism is certainly not the solution. Everyone should have the freedom to follow the religion of his choice, or even he may choose atheism.

But, a state should not overstep and enforce atheism.
