  • A new image shows a mysterious aircraft flying over Kansas
  • The jet appears to be the same one that was spotted over Texas last month
  • Photographer Jeff Templin says it may have been as high as passenger jets
  • A retired Marine previously said the mysterious plane is the SR-72
  • The SR-72 is designed to cross entire continents in less than an hour.
  • Developers at Lockheed Martin say the plane could be operational by 2030
A new photo of a mysterious flying object over Kansas has been revealed.

It appears to be the same aircraft as one that was snapped soaring over Texas last month.

The exact identify of the aircraft remains a mystery, but rumours abound that it could be a secret jet.

A mysterious flying object was snapped flying over Wichita, Kansas by Jeff Templin. It resembles a similar unidentified aircraft streaking across the skies of Texas last month
'The photo is grainy because it was taken with a hand-held maxed-out 400mm telephoto lens through a cloud layer and then it was severely cropped to bring it up even close,' says Jeff Templin, who took the photo on 16 April.

'There is no way to know the altitude and no way to judge its size as there is no point of reference.

'My sense of it with the naked eye was that it was quite high, at least the altitude passenger jets cruise over but if it were smaller like a "drone" it could conceivably have been .

The Aviationist speculates that the plane could be a RQ-180 stealth drone or a prototype of America's next generation long range strike bomber (LSRB).

They, too, are unsure if it is the same plane as the one spotted previously

A retired Marine with nearly two decades of aviation experience stepped forward with a compelling theory about the mysterious plane that was spotted flying over Texas last month.

On March 10, photographers Steve Douglass and Dean Muskett took pictures of three puzzling aircraft flying over Amarillo, and posted them online in hopes of identifying the planes.

Retired-Marine James Vineyard submitted one of the more interesting explanations, telling the Houston Chronicle he believed they were SR-72 Blackbirds - a spy plane that can cross the U.S. in less than an hour, unmanned.

THE FIRST STEALTH JET
In 1956, British magazines started getting eyewitness accounts and grainy photos of the Lockheed U-2, then operating out of RAF Lakenheath on its first flights over the Soviet Union - marking the first sight of a spy plane that government's had hoped to keep secret from prying eyes.

An American Lockheed U2 aircraft arrives at Upper Heywood

It provided day and night, very high-altitude (70,000 feet / 21,000 m), all-weather intelligence gathering.

He says the Pentagon may have dispatched the planes to the Indian Ocean to aide in the search for missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370.

But Douglass, who saw the planes himself, doesn't agree.

'The SR-72 is still in development,' he said Tuesday. 'Plus it's a high-speed, high-Mach plane. These were going airliner speed. They were not in a hurry to get anywhere.'

The SR-72 is currently being developed by Lockheed Martin in California, and according to the company's website they say the plane could be operational as early as 2030.

It is the predecessor of the SR-71 which broke speed records when it flew from New York to Lonton in less than two hours in 1976.

Lockheed Martin's Hypersonics program manager Brad Leland wrote that the plane is designed to 'strike at nearly any location across a continent in less than an hour.'

'Speed is the next aviation advancement to counter emerging threats in the next several decades. The technology would be a game-changer in theater, similar to how stealth is changing the battlespace today,' Leland said.

Another reader, who wished not to be identified, told the Chronicle with confidence that 'It's a B-2 stealth bomber flying out of Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.'

That's what the photographers thought when they first saw the group of aircraft, but they say they checked with the base and no B-2s were flying anywhere in the U.S. that day.

Instead, Douglass believes that the planes are a no type of spy plane - a stealth transport plane that could sneak troops into a another country unseen.

Well, Yes. Any and every unidentified flying object is an UFO, and from the looks of things, they haven't identified it yet.:meeting:
Well its not an UFO in typical terms, yes it is unidentified but its completely earthly. And there's nothing alienish about it. :D

Is this Didijaan or her hubby posting?

On topic: Just because it has contrails does not mean it's not a UFO.;)
By definition it is a UFO. It is un-identified, it is flying, it is an object.

hmm....this plane is in news for now a few years......
*its considered to be the next generation of Blackbird........and it will be hyper sonic plane flying at mach 7-8....
but real question is will it be in spy role or will sneak in the troops without knowing of the enemy......
but with greater speed the plane will emit greater signature and will have to compromise on stealth front........that is why B2 bomber is a sub sonic plane.....
lets see what they do.......it will interesting to see how they incorporate stealth with speed and agility.......

Interesting!!
Did you know SR 72 is a conceptualized unmanned and hypersonic aircraft ?
And that the ability to accelerate from standstill to Mach 6.0 using the same engine making it about twice as fast as the SR-71....just Imagine!!!
And its high speed appeals to the service to reduce the time an adversary would have to react to an operation.I guess there the speed would win over the signature it leaves.

SR72,Sounds glamarous than UFO.

Hi,

This is the 50's technology---the SR71---. No nation in the world has anything that could come close to it 54 years from now----and the supposed museum piece that I took the pictures of in 2002 at March air reserve base air show weekend---was actually put back into service---because it disappeared from the base museum.

You kids who talk about china and russia competing with the u s in 10 years---are totally clueless about the capabilities of the united states. Don't let the issues in the production of new aircraft deceive you into believing otherwise.

The SR-72 was unveiled in the midst of sequestration budget cuts that have forced the Air Force to prioritize acquisition projects and sacrifice mission readiness. What else do you know about it?

Ok, here's some gen you may find interesting which I posted on another website.

The UK knows more than it is saying about top secret American aircraft projects, recently declassified documents reveal.

Here’s a collection of those ubiquitous triangular shaped craft. Are they alien or the Top Secret Aurora or TR3-B Astra, presumably made by Lockheed Skunk Works/Boeing’s Phantom Works? According to Dr Richard Boylan Ph.D., the US is currently using back engineered alien technology in various craft like the top secret Aurora, TAW-50 and so on as a matter of routine. Here I will only mention the triangle shaped craft seen in the skies over many countries.

The Aurora is a moderate-sized space faring vehicle. The late National Security Council scientist Dr. Michael Wolf of NSC's unacknowledged Special Studies Group subcommittee, (formerly called MJ-12), has stated that the Aurora can operate on both conventional fuel and antigravity field propulsion systems. He further stated that the Aurora can travel to the Moon.

The TR3-B 'Astra, is a large triangular anti-gravity craft within the U.S. fleet. Black projects defense industry insider Edgar Rothschild Fouche wrote about the existence of the TR3-B in his book, Alien Rapture. My ex-NSA informant, also confirmed that the TR3-B is operational. He had this to say about the TR3-B triangular antigravity craft:

"The TR3-B is the code name for what everyone on Earth has seen. It is a very large triangular-shaped re-entry vehicle with anti-gravity. It is what the November [2000] issue of Popular Mechanics identified as the Lenticular Reentry Vehicle, a nuclear-powered ‘flying saucer’, the first version of which went operational in 1962”.

This is an alleged photo of a hard-copy photograph. Note the tack
attaching the photo to the wall or board, the German writing on the
photo and the tacked note. Could this be an early German prototype
of the TR-3B?

Here are some of the pictures captured mostly by amateur photographers that seem to be some of the best in class. Auroras? TR3-B Astras? Or Alien craft? Impossible to know presently, but there sure IS some strange stuff out there, unless all these photographs are hoaxed, which is most unlikely.

In the presumed picture, taken by a classified STS mission in 2002,
you can see a full-body shape aircraft (a black triangle) coming out
from Earth’s atmosphere to go into space. Could it be the Aurora
or the TR3-B Astra? Or an alien craft? Or fake?
Courtesy: C. Barbato.

It is most likely that some of these craft may be alien in origin and others man-made with the help of reverse engineered alien technology. But then this raises another question. How did they manage to lay their hands on this technology?

Cheers!

its a very difficult decision to make to go for speed or stealth.....

I had seen an interview of an astronaut recently who claimed to have seen lights of UFO while he was on space station.Cant find the video now :(
