Egypt Will Not Drift Toward War With Turkey Over Erdogan's Provocative Statements - FM

Egypt will not drift toward a war with Turkey over the provocative statements of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to line up pieces of Turkish maritime fleet along Turkey's maritime borders with neighboring countries, said Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

The Turkish naval forces have been authorized by the government to apply rules of engagement to face the growing tension between Turkey and its neighbors, Shoukry said in a statement to Akhbar el Youm newspaper.

Erdogan is going to visit the Algerian khedive this coming wednesday, I will expect Erdogan's rethoric against Egypt will cease. Nobody wants the two biggest and most influential mediterranean countries start stoning each other with baklava.

Bla bla bla... Erdoğan, Sisi, Natenyahu, Obama, Putin, Etc... Doesn't matter. Theatre is playing. Don't look the players, look the play. Somebody wants Egypt devide. Somebody wants Turkey devide. They devide many contries already. Somebody wants middle east can not be in peace, it must be in conflict all the time. And sometimes conflicts made a political gain for this locak governments also. If you have a enemy (real or fake doesnt matter) you can right to fight. (again, real or fake doesnt matter) And you can filtering information ad holding civil rights and etc. to win. Ahhh players changed but plays always same. What a world?..

Yep,clearly somebody is speaking through Erdogan, like a ventriloquist

It really isn't Erdogan saying all these things,it's always "somebody else".

Wil Egypt mix in war against Turkey for Greece:-)?

in this age the chances that a real war happen are few anyway

I was going to say this as well. No country is going to go to war and both sides aren't capable. Egypt finds itself involved in Libya and has internal situation in Sinai. Turkey has ongoing refugee crisis due to Syrian conflict. Both sides don't hate each other and this is ordinary politics. They won't have strong diplomatic relations because their politics differ on the region.

There won't be any war between Turkey and Greece, let alone Egypt in the mix. You'll have to admit though that Erdo did a splendid job in surrounding Turkey with enemies from Europe ,to N. Africa and the Middle East.

i said it before we did not have a problem with turkey it was erdogan who become mad after morsi leaving power and could not just let it go should someone else be in power in turkey without hostile policy to Egypt i dont think there will be any problem

Turkey had no major relations in the Middle East prior to Erdogan, Turkey did have a decent relationship with Israel but that was no longer in the political sense due to flotilla incident. You can't compare this leader to a leader from a stable Europe. The Middle East saw many drastic developments in the past two years that greatly complicate politics. There isn't a good choice here, there is only a better choice than the other one. Or there is neutrality which is possible for some nations but not for neighboring nations in major conflicts.

Sisi had a hostile attitude to anyone he thought was Ikhwaan. If you think that came out of nowhere then you are wrong. His policy was coordinated with Saudi Arabia, UAE, Israel prior to him overthrowing the elected president. Erdogan was just being smart and refused to display weakness because either way Egypt and its new allies were going to demonize Turkey.

Hamas initially accepted the events and tried to display brotherlyhood with Egypt in an attempt to have things function normally between the Palestinians and the Egyptians but it didn't work because the Egyptian intelligence was already ordered to refuse to even cooperate on the border let alone in any other sense. So Hamas was wasting its time thinking that Egypt wouldn't hostile but that wasn't the case. Now they realize everything.

Erdogan when he came to Egypt gave a speech in favor of secularism. Why would they support a group like the Muslim Brotherhood?

In either case all countries should get along. We need to promote good ties between Turkey and the neighbors. Turkish secularism is the best model for all of us.
