Is India Interested in Malaysian MIG-29 Jets

Why should India buy old Mig29s when we planning for the modernization of our own old ones . These Malaysian Mig29s are pretty old and they need up gradation; thats why they are selling them.

anyways its just internet propaganda ....india will not buy these..
but imo mirages from UAE if offered will be good buy...

I dont think there is any value in buying very old MIG29 as there is no salvage value at this point. Thats the very reason RMAF decided to phase it out instead of an upgrade.

I still didnt know if it is the same a/c in offer. But still did not buy this idea even remotely. It would have been well past shelf life and upgrading em will be even more costlier.

Gents,

Malaysian MiG-29's are MiG-29N.

While our AF MiG's are getting uograded to SMT standards and Navy getting MiG-29K, we dont require these N series MiG's as they require further upgrades.

Keep the focus on MRCA.

for Pakistan its a totally new platform. need to invest in a hell lot of thing, infrastructure, training, maintenance & most important wepons. also they need upgrades to be compitant in the current situation.

while for India they already operates Mig 29 so every thing is in place also we are going for the upgrades for our own Mig, so fisible for India......

well these could be bought and headed directly to russia if the total cost with upgrades is ~15mil.

why Pakistan is not interested in these jets

Pakistan has adopted the doctrine to use single engine fighters atleast till 2018-2019. And also, these Mig's are old and need to have an intensive upgrades. Russia won't do those upgrades for PAF and therefore it won't be wise to invest on something which is not easy to maintain (politically).

how can a trainer be too advanced ... :what::what::what:
infact the more advanced the trainer the better rite ..
closest to the real thing (final training) ....
leading to better pilots
also we are short of trainers
plus in that scenario these traineers can be used in active duty ...
are our current trainer capable of BRV combat ????

Malaysian MIG-29 were bought in 1994
The aircraft’s engines need to be overhauled every year and the weaponry for the fighter jets has reached the end of its life span.
