Iran unveils MBT 2016

Why the Iranians are spending their time more on modernizations projects instead of developing one mbt which can replace all of those old steels ?

Because untill such time as they have a good domestic product, they need to keep the old stuff working and relevant. And, building a good tank is hard, esp. when you're hampered in import and coorperation with more experienced parties in that business. Zulfiqar is the domestic development.

I don't understand how a country which has an 'okay' car industry is unable to develop and produce modern armored combat vehicles, especially of the wheeled kind.. What's up Iran, what is the problem ?

I suppose the difficulty is not the automotive part.

they kinda stuck with old designing program maybe

Iranian arms industry sooner or later will be left behind

Iranian Sabalan MBT, a modified M-47

The chassis of MBT 2016 is definitely M-47 / Sabalan based. Upper hull and turret seem different.
Is this not call 'Tiam'?

So, the upper hull has changed. The gun mantlet seems more like a russian or chinese pattern. The hatches also seem from that origin/pattern. The turret is also smaller (lower) than that of the Sabalan and the original M-47
Compare e.g. Type-62 light tank. Have they mated a Type-62 or Type-59/69 (T-54/55) turret to the M-47 chassis? The top-hull modification may be to allow for a wider turret ring. If so, then e.g. gun sight might be same as with Type-72Z / Safir-74 (upgraded Type-59 and T-54/55). The gun is a 105mm.

in the Iranian military parade last Friday, revelated a new version of the "Tiam" tank ( a hybrid : chassis M-47 + Type-59 and T-54/55 tower with 105mm gun) with refinement in the positioning of reactive bricks in the turret and in the front of the hull, also replacing the side guards at the tracks, now the material used for making them look different

They might be hiding their true potential this looks like a Trojan Horse display
I am not buying that while they have a massive Car industry they can't manufacture a Tank

The main battle Tank category is already going in right direction and the support tanks perhaps are ok to be derived from older model technology

Zulfiqar appears to be a functional Tank

This latest reverse Engineering Unit will still cause havoc on the battle field

Seems like a reasonable approach

a) Brand new Tank program
b) Mid size Karrar Tank modernized
c) A old generation , modernized Tank (Smaller category Tank)

iRAN have officially activated S-300 System yesterday
