Russia is fighting Nato not just Ukraine..and Russia is a military superpower and an industrial giant...Iran does not need Russian $$$..Iran needs Russian aviation and space tech..and few well timed veto actions in the UN security council when Ameican gangs pile up on Iran..

To be fair, they also had serious interests in Syria, and wanted to avoid intervention for a long time, until allegedly Soleimani went to Moscow to meet Putin and tell an accurate brief of the situation (which was around the time ISIS swept through Iraq and Syria..

There are definitely Chinese components in Iranian drones, but western components seems like a load of BS. Eitherway, Iran has amazing drones and many of them regardless of where they source parts for it.
