What's new

Iran successfully sends living creature in to space, recovers it alive.

Launching a sounding rocket in second decade of 21th century?

Zero.

If you want to send a human in to space, you should pass this stage right?
This has nothing to do with launching satellites to space.Iran plans to send first human to space in 2019 and if it achieves this goal, it becomes one of few countries who are capable of doing so.

Also, in coming 4 years, you will see much heavier satellites (near 1 ton) launched to space by Iran.Considering we didn't even have a space program in 2005 and that we are in first stage, it's foolish to compare Iran to U.S, Soviets or other countries.

Also not to forget that, unlike many countries with space program including yours who receive huge assistant and technology from world powers, Iran has to do everything all by herself. You should take it in to consideration.

well according of 500 , Atawolf , Sombozo 's reaction , I can say this is a punch in their face .... they are barking ....

anyway , our satellite program is going well , we want to send 100-200 Kilo satellite to orbit in near future and we have plane for heavy satellite ....

congrats brethren

that monkey looks terrified..

it's foolish to compare Iran to U.S, Soviets or other countries.

indeed it is foolish to compare with United States because even Padre there do tis;

Congrats but sending animals into space is cruelty! Imagine the state the monkey may have been not knowing what the heck is going on. He may have suffered great trauma in silence.

And what was the state of the monkey when it returned?

Baree apne bhai ki fikr hai tujhe? :D

Congrats to Iranian scientist for this achievement.

The monkey is happy to contribute to Iran's scientific achievements.

So when you guys decide to start your manned space program, you're not going to send any animals?

Are you just going to just jump straight to humans then?

It's just reported that it's alive and the capsule is intact. Will send any news regarding its health as soon as it's out.

About the cruelty, I don't see how you define it as cruelty. Many of these animals are killed, hunted and served in world for their 'delicious meat, for their precious jaws, horns, teeth, skin and other things. No one raises any voice then, but now that it's somehow contributing to science and the animal is safe after the test, it's not fair to be worried about 'cruelty'.

It's like saying it's cruelty to experiment on those white mouses in the labs, maybe it is, but a human live is certainly more precious, right?

He meant that Humans can understand why they are sent, but Monkey doesn't. For him (it may be "her" :D), might have thought what the hell these Humans doing to me. They showed banana and given it to me after putting me in a confined space for such a long time. :D

Iranian space program is very impressive in some ways.

Hope they "re-connect" with the world, this will really them help to extract their true talents...

Why not GCC + Iran co-operate in science? Middle-Eastern countries should sign a pact that politics aside, two things will remain above any conflicts between them..

1) Economy and economic prosperity of the Arab/Persians living in the region.
2) Science and Technology.

Leaders can keep on playing their politics, but let scientists do their job and give bread to your citizens...
