India's Muslims fear for their future under Narendra Modi

While the background bureaucracy of India remains secular because of the legacy of Nehru and co., there is no doubt that the Hindutva right-wingers have become prominent in the last ten years or so. One example is the assassination of the progressive, Narendra Dabolkar, in 2013 - ten months before the BJP formed government at the center.

@Gadkari , let us remember that the Kathua case of Asifa's murder by gang rape and torture also went in the wrong direction with some people in Jammu, instead speaking against the crime, they spoke only of raising funds for the families of the criminals involved of the case. And there were a few Indian PDF members who also spoke this way.

I hope that whoever forms the next government, the country's bureaucratic secularism remains primary and the current anti-Dalit and anti-Muslim poison peters away.

India's current mess explains why the British system of "Parliamentary Democracy" - which India has - can bring in a wrong group into power.

I am sure you will be fine.

The Bureaucracy is secular because of the BRITISH, not Nehru. It was they who set up a system (exploitative) to govern India.

Asifa's murder was politicized from day one.

Hindus were victimized and collectively held responsible for the murder of one child while the real killer went away scott free.

People in Jammu were protesting this blatnent hate mongering based on a single crime. There were the number of tweets about Kathua during that time.

But the media is talking about the case, and hence you know about it.

In Asifa's case it was the brutality and the communal reason of the assault that caught the attention of the media and those individuals you mention.

The recent case has caused protests. Below are pictures from "The Wire" website :

The Hindus in the northern India has almost has become anti-minority, due to RSS activities. If the Godhra killers gain power for a 2nd time, it will be very fearful days for both majority and minority. But, Hindus just like Muslims are, vulnerable to propaganda and excited to imagine a new classroom board erasing the dirt (Muslims, Christians) as promised by the great eraser-in-charge of Gujarat.

Where are the celebrities twitting about it ?

Asifa's case was turned into a communal incident. This is the most well researched article you will read about the Kathua murder.

Asifa's case was turned into a communal incident.

As I said, the reason of that crime was communal.

There is a thread on PDF which contains the whole article, and that article seems to sympathise with the accused,

And see the crass apathy of the poster of that thread :
Why ignore him when I can have so much more fun exposing him :P

As I said, the reason of that crime was communal.

Nope, the investigation of that crime was as communal as it gets. The thread you mentioned, details the whole thing.

And see the crass apathy of the poster of that thread :

All I see is the crass apathy of the posters who continue to use this crime to peddle their political agenda.

Have extended family who served in the Indian parliament now sheepish about answering the “united India” question.

They all hate Modi vehemently
What's the United India question?
