Kathmandu, Nov 18 (PTI) India today inked a pact with Nepal to build a recreation centre on the outskirts of the capital as part of New Delhi''s effort to boost infrastructure in the country.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Embassy here and Special Physical and Infrastructure Area Development Project (SPIADP), whereby India has pledged to provide grant assistance of Nepalese Rs 15.7 million for the construction of Nepal-India Friendship Park in Dadhikot Village of Bhaktapur district, some 10-km east of the capital.
This is the third development project being undertaken by India under Small Development Projects in Bhaktapur district, which is famous for its medieval art and history.
An open air theater will also be constructed as a part of the project. The new park seeks to provide recreational facilities for families residing in Kathmandu Valley.
India has also gifted three ambulances and one special purpose mobile clinic van for the people of Bhaktapur.
