The NDA government is about to sign on a logistics exchange agreement a.k.a LEMOA (Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement), which is a tweaked version of LSA (Logistics Support Agreement) which facilitates the provision of logistical support, supplies and services between the US military and the armed forces of partner countries. Under such an agreement, the two sides can access supplies, spare parts and services from each other’s land facilities, air bases, and ports, which can then be reimbursed.

It will benefit USA like anything but i dont see that much benefit for Indian military. But yes this move will invite the fury of China in any case.

no india will actually benefit more as they can use military bases of US in Gulf and afghanistan as well ...... that way they can encircle pakistan without actually encircling it moreover pakistan will also hesitate on launching a strike on the air bases of US and Indian air bases hosting US jets and it will give americans not only encirclment but also a bit more penetration in indian ocean this deal might be pain in the green ***

this also means that in case of a conflict between India and Pakistan, US bases will become a target also.

they will be if US provide them support through its bases during the hostility but i think this probibility is less but not negligible ....... plus if pakistan tried a raid on any indian base hosting american jet ..... it can piss off americans and indian would want it be a pearl harbor ...... but lets wait it out and see what wil be implications if india signed it which they most probably will

US will not based her assets in India in case of Indo- Pakistan war. If they happen to be there, they are still a fair target [edit: the facility that is. Pakistan is not likely to target US assets]. However placing US assets in India would mean US has chosen a side. It will immediately result in loss of US diplomatic leverage as a negotiator to bring a conflict to an end which mind you can spiral out to a nuclear exchange. This is the last thing US wants.

Such deal, if signed signals Indian decision to join US camp against China. There is more at stake for India than US. Two front war is a theory only till India doesn't end up completely in US lap. After that, it will become real possibility. Not a smart idea to take on a neighbouring giant for the sake of someone thousands of miles away.

US will most likely assure Pakistan that her assets have no role to play in conflict. Besides, such Indo-US deal is a slippery slope for India. US is no fool. India will get goodies only when it takes up concrete stance against China. If it doesn't, deal may just be a ceremonial affair with little substance.

it also says that indian can also use US bases and Logistics i.i in GUlf and in afghanistan ...... that can be plus point for indians and might cause pain to us ... is it possible ????? although the deal says it is ???

Yes, it is possible. But US will weigh if India is using those bases to threaten/ attack Pakistan. If so, US is actively supporting war effort against Pakistan. US will loose all her diplomatic clout over only nuclear armed Muslim nation of the world. Is it a good idea? Only time can tell but I believe US would not like to do that. This means ceasefire talks will be in held in Moscow with Russia as a guarantor. That's a big diplomatic loss to US.

Nothing wrong in it especially with Indian conditions..

This development is a step towards "China containment policy." It is not aimed for Pakistan.

Answer for this psot is lying in your own first post .US dont care Asian nations ,since they are thousands miles away .US can easily hire some other states like Pakistan if they want .Nuclear and still only confined inside in South Asia.

You are wrong this deal would be nullified during war time .But during peace time Indian Navy can use these facilities tremendously .After all we have one of the major navies in the world with two CBGs and ever evolving modernization .Means we can use these bases for joint survelliance .

First of all USA is handing over all Bases back to Kabul gradually and secondly in first instance no US Base in Gulf has direct significance with regards to Pakistan, plus do U really think that any Gulf country wud actually allow India to launch an attack from their soil on Pakistan? By this deal India wud get permission to use those Bases for logistical support etc but entry to those Bases would in any case be governed by rules of entry in the Air Space of that country. Just for example if there is any xyz Base of US in Qatar so under this deal India can access that Base but for that to happen they ll have to enter the air space of Qatar and get permission from Qatar for that entry first. Previously India en route to any foreign exercise wud use set ups of these same countries but only change now is that they wud b able to use US set ups in countries en route to final destination if any.
