Mid-Day Meal Program
Someone Asked About Social Reform in India.

- Here's a heart warming clip about malnutrition in India.
The poorest of the poor and how India's Supreme Court, Corp.'s and awesome, hyper educated IT Billionaires, the ISKON spiritual organisation and govt. came together to feed ... hold your horses ...150 million kids.

Well India looks better than I expected but still behind Brazil.
Don't worry. The natural order will be reestablished like it was during ancient and medieval period
and India will take over Brazil in a few years.

Well, it will take a long time. As of now, Brazilian per capita income is at least more than 3 times that of the average Indian, in PPP terms. Your infrastructure is lagging also.

It doesn't make much sense to compare the income per capita of both countries as the Indian population is much
bigger than the Brazilian population. But if history repeats itself then India will take over Brazil.
By the way good luck for the World Cup this year.

Brazil is a much older nation-state then modern day nation state of the Republic of India.
For eg., my hometown Ottawa is much, much older then New Delhi.
Maybe not Old Delhi, but I posted NEW, r8!
  • Looks wise Hong Kong, hehe ... even Ukrainian Crimea looked good. Good enough to be gobbled up by mainland China and Russia. Looks ain't everything;).
Today, the core wealth of nations is based on IT & software technology, not how they look. Brazilians can argue that aerospace engg. is everything and even looks good compared to IT & software. Looks are like lipstick on a pig.

Both Brazil & India are part of BRICS. Like Many NATO countries have similar standard of living, BRICS and India will get there. Brazil, like Pakistan was a dictator runnation for so long that the long term ecoulution of democracy and ideas thereof are still germinating.
Colonial India, like Brazil, was very elitist. Pakistan remains extreemly elitist. India is also elitist but inclusivelness is so prvasive that the old days of 21 gun slutes, all kinds of headgear and dress codes, food based elitist rules and caste and creed stand substantially diluted. Just look at, read-up on India's IT billionaries and 1/2 are them are neither business royalty nor behave like merchant prices of your. Even that old timegazillionaire Tata drives around himself. These are 'common man' democratic ideas that have taken root in India, Brazil too but only recentlyfrom Lula, Dilma and maybe the one before Lula.

Give it a few, these moments are just a blip in the histories of nation-states. Important to get the fundas right. Brazil, India have it.

I'm starting to notice Brazilians, Chinese but never enough Pakistani brother's around, ahem!

Even I want to see India progress and be able to take care of its people. Good luck to India !

Thanks
By the way did you watch the Brazilian serial Caminho Das Indias which seems to have been
a hit in Brazil.

 Yea I was forced to watch a couple of episode by my gf(she's Brazilian). It was indeed a hit in Brazil and gave Brazilians exposure to Indian culture for the first time.

Brazil has much to share with S.Asia.

Construction and infrastructure, Brazil can grow S. Asia to Brazilian levels of high rise density.
Aerospace is obvious, but collaboration wise. City and municipal mgmt. Agribusiness, and specailly agri-machinery. Software and outer-space collaboration. Off-shore oil & gas, India's Bombay High expertise comes to mind. Goans can make a killing!

Otherwise, Brazil India cooperation can make BRICS; rivalry can spoil the BRICS party.
Brazil's Portuguese and military background Vs. marginalization of it's 50% Afro-Brazilian's meant that Brazil's elitist and exclusivist ideology didn't jive with India's socialist, common-man philosophy even if was and remains top driven. Brazil went left and India right.
Brazil-India , all good.

Off topic, Canary Wharf, London Vs. Cybercity, Gurgaon.
  • Canary Wharf’s 35 completed buildings, including three shopping malls, are occupied by some of the world’s best companies employing 100,000 people in over 16 million square feet.

  • Cybercity Gurgaon, over 12 million square feet.

Something's not right, but not bad Gurgaon!

Indian Software & IT
- India Vs. Pak., the gap in cotton, textiles, soccer balls-leather goods, agriculture, surgical tools or nukes may be close, but in pharmaceuticals, steel and byproducts like 2-3-4-6-8-12-18 wheelers, rail and metro cars but specially computer software and information technology, is un-bridgable; check:
