Sisupalgarh fort remains which point to the existence of a city which flourished 2,500 years ago in eastern India, now near Bhubaneswar, capital of the eastern state of Orissa.

The population of the city could have amounted to 20,000 to 25,000. The significance of the population is clear when one bears in mind that the population of classical Athens was 10,000.
