What's new

In Bangladesh - RFL Group's bicycle factory opens new door of employment

its good news these damn bicycle are expensive too i bought one for my some last week cost me 100$
:hitwall:

100 dollars is not expensive for a 7 year old's cycle. Even low price Decathlon you'll get it around that much only. Especially post pandemic with the Chinese and Taiwanese production hit and in short supply for even low and mid range bikes and components.

Sasta bina hisab ke. Quality often many levels off the original. Lekin the price is too good to resist. Even though it normally takes 30-40 days to reach. Order kar ke bhool jane ka.

Better to create jobs a little slower than allow too many foreigners to set up factories in BD like some other countries like Thailand and Vietnam have done.
Do not please worry. The Hasina govt makes a few half-hearted and insincere approaches and almost no FDI likes to invest in BD because of it. So far, the FDI is around $4 billion. What a shame!!

FDIs like SE Asia and India. They still love to invest in Burma. Yet, avoids BD where the govt is corrupt.

Your little brain is inept to understand that BD has little FE reserves to support investments by the locals. Hasina wants to import from India and China by her cronies like you because she can then get Bakhra from them.

Why industrialize then?

Countries reliant on FDI will suffer the most in the next 2-4 years.

We saw that during covid as well.

Don't take advice from people who have scarce idea about bikes and only study wikipedia.

Sab China se nahi aata....

Only lower priced bikes sold at Super Retail centers like Walmart, Costco or Target (ASDA for UK folks) are made in China or in some countries in Asia. That said, the quality offered by Chinese for the price is world-beater, even Indian bikes cannot compete. Only thing holding back Chinese bikes is that they attract heavy dumping tariffs in EU.

Mine is a Bianchi with a handmade alloy frame made in Italy back in the day and uses Italian gear shifter groupset made by Campagnolo, Campagnolo used to be the best shifter and groupset maker before Shimano arrived on the scene - who dominate that market now.

All bike makers (and even component makers) have low and high-priced items. Low priced items (bikes with heavy steel frames etc.) come from China and Taiwan, handmade aluminum alloy and chrome-Molybdenum (Chromoly) frames come from Italy and Western countries. some handmade alloy frames are even made in the US (for $5000 competition bikes). These frames are so light, one can easily lift them with one hand (five/six pounds).

However - Taiwan brands (such as Giant) also make some very good alloy and carbon fibre frames nowadays. Giant's higher-priced bikes are quite respectable and demand premium prices, only the top end of their line. But majority of Taiwanese or Chinese bikes aren't handmade and are usually not extremely high spec or high quality. They are made and targeted at lower price mass market.
