HJ-12 | Chinese Top Attack ATGM

Depends on which platform it could go into with the least amount of effort and the most balanced amount of commission and kickbacks given.

It's not meant for any platform, it's like javelin and would be carried by soldiers.

That its rather limited in usefulness is it not?
Even the M47 dragon could be mounted on APCs.

Umm..javelins can be integrated with IFVs, like in the case of the TATA Kestrel, don't see why this particular ATGM cannot be adopted in a similar manner.

Like my dad............ story goes like this.............. once upon a time, there was a marriage ceremony in the village, and dad wasn't invited to the walima.......... the place where walima was being held, had just one narrow door.............. well, to cut it short........... it was night time......... he gets a donkey, puts it through that door and shoves a burning cigarette up the arses as*..............the damage was legendary......... I still get cursed for his deeds............. :haha:

Your dad is awesome. Devious, but awesome.

HJ-12 is probably a lot more expensive that any other anti-tank weapon is PLA inventory (HJ-73C, HJ-8, PF-89, and PF-98) so is it going to see use in many units? Or are they using HJ-73C only because it's their only light weight ATGM system.

If HJ-73C is used only because it's light weight instead of price then HJ-12 is probably going to see very common weapon.

The "Javelin" is the best missile to attack helicopters and tanks, armor on the top of MBT is thinner than at the front of turret.
If new HJ-12 can do the same job as American "Javelin", it will be the great progress for China anti-tank missile family.

No doubt, HJ-12 is more expensive than HJ-8 and HJ-9 anti-tank missile.

After 15 years (HJ-9 out at 1999), China PLA Army finally to get new missile.

Pakistan has already shown interest in the Turkish Mizrak series .. visit the Turkish missiles/torpedo thread... or Pak-Turk military co-op thread.

HJ-12 may not be comparable to Mirak series as earlier is similar to Javelin and later is similar to Hell fire both are bit different in class but look deadly and PA may induct both, as new IBG threat poses fast moving armor threat which require more anti armor missile which can be deployed easily and fire n forget capable.

HJ-12 has low range at night, 2000 meters range will put infantry at risk.

How does a Fire and forget missile puts infantry at risk even at 2000m away? Once fire and quickly pull out, the missile will be on its own. The enemies will be busy countering the incoming missile than taking on the infantry who fired.

In Indo Pak scenario specially in dessert those troops will be pron to enemy artillery fire and tank fire due to availability to different detection systems like WLRs, IR systems etc and its not easy to hide in dessert when enemy is well equipped even with tactical UAVs. It may work in Punjab sector as infantry men may have means to hide but in modern warfare range of 2000 meters is not good enough for conventional war, but still it will work for PA as our soldiers will put their lives in the line of fire to protect the nation.
