There are arguments floating in the Arab media about how Pakistan has 'back stabbed' the Arabs, let's take some lessons from history to understand what Pakistan has done for Arabs. This will help the readers understand if Pakistan which itself is in ICU has 'back stabbed' Arabs or its them who are apathetic to Pakistan's own security situation which has claimed over 80,000 Pakistanis killed so far.

  • In 1969, Pakistani pilots participated in the Saudi offensive inside Yemen to target Houthi rebels, to subdue them and secure the southern border of Saudi Arabia.

  • Pakistan began with help to the Royal Saudi Air Force to build and pilot its first jet fighters in the 1960s. Pakistani Air Force pilots flew RSAF Lightnings that repulsed a South Yemeni incursion into the kingdom’s southern border in 1969.

  • Pakistan contributed fighter Pilots in two Arab Israeli wars.

  • In the 1980s, Pakistan sent about 15,000 troops to secure Saudi Arabia from internal threats.

  • Pakistani engineers also helped build fortifications along the southern Saudi border, in part to help counter Houthi rebels.

  • Up until the First Gulf War, there was a detachment of thousands of Pakistani soldiers posted in Saudi Arabia.

  • Pakistan’s experienced military helped train the undermanned and underprepared militaries of a number of fledgling Arab states.

  • The former Pakistani President Zia-ul-Haq once even commanded a unit of troops in Jordan tasked with combating & crushing the Palestinian fighters during Operation Black September.

  • Pakistan provided 700 military personal to Kuwait during its conflict with Iraq.

  • Pakistan's training program for Arab forces is running from 1960s and continues till date and it spans all three services.

  • Pakistan established a secret Ballistic Missile base in Saudi Arabia to defend it from foreign threats.

  • Pakistan continues to assure Saudi Arabia's territorial integrity as a stated policy.

We have avoided getting involved in a war in which we would have been losers in all cases. Being neutral and peace maker is best policy. We did not back stab anybody just avoided back stabbing ourselves. Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait bankrolled to attack Iran millions died in the 10 year war. In previous Yemen conflict 20,000 Egyptians died. Iraq, Syria and Yemen are in conflict are related with same players. We have our domestic problems also in Afghanistan, Kashmir and India. Our first and foremost priority is Pakistan and we must stay out of these wars. Nawaz Sharif gave impression that Pakistan will join and until the last minute and Arabs feel betrayed.

Your approach of addressing this issue is "explanatory" instead of "elaborative". Feel the pride in what Pakistan has done for Arabs and address the topic positively. They are our brothers and we stood and stand with them whenever they are in trouble. I suggest changing the title to "A dependable ally and the support are to Arabs" instead of "Has Pakistan back stabbed Arabs?".

Are you sure about that one? I think the Saudis backed the Shiites in that conflict while Egypt sided with the Republicans.

Maybe pakistan needs to threaten to pull the nuclear umbrella away, however I highly doubt it, due to our commitment to haramain sharifain these Saudi and GCC morons need to grow some. With all their billions of spending on foreign weaponry what good is it? Or is it a case of wanting a slave or mercenary army, in that case they can shove it. They are shit scared of Iran for what reason I do not know......they know pakistani predicament we have a war of our own.....maybe we should send a division in turn they should send a division to tribal areas and take their Arab Al Qaeda fighters back, that's not an unreasonable demand is it?

And Pakistan sent soldiers to Bahrain to back the current government which is known to be oppressive towards shias. Pakistan has done much for the Arab world but for once we are thinking about our own problems which is good. We do not need to exacerbate the shia sunni divide and we should play no role in it. We should instead act as negotiators and mediators and fix this divide between 2 powerful entities that threatens to weaken the nations of Islam.

Pakistan provided 700 military personal to Kuwait during its conflict with Iraq.

You forgot contributing troops to clear landmine fields laid by Saddam's forces in Kuwait.

Building UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia.

Doing the hard and dirty work that Arabs think is below them because it requires 'Manual Labor'

depends on what your unwritten promise to KSA (not all arabs)... if you had an understanding that they will support you financially and you will support them with your resources... then KSA has right to feel betrayed.. they never stopped supporting you.

Pakistan is already fighting the terrorists on her own soil!
It was a wise decision not the send troops to get involved another conflict while the Arabs sit and watch them fight!

Arabs are always backstabbing their friends and never look for them, it is part of their traditional and cultural.

It seems Arab cowards who enjoyed killing their own Arab brothers/sisters or enemies, this speak alot about them.

Pakistan must back off and re-think of their own interests first and our expensive troops, we are no longer free services to Arab or GCC.

Use unmanned drones or our Burraq/Shahpur to experiment them.

Somewhere down the line its been like .. while Pakistanis considered themselves very close to the Arabs.

The Arabs meanwhile took Pakistanis, BDeshis, Indians, Lankans & all others only to be people whom they pay and demand services from.

This applied in part to Govts of some nations too who virtually lived on their largesse and Pak leaders were routinely bailed out from trouble / distress by the Arabs.

For the 1st time the recipient who has thus far been doing as the donor wanted stood up and said No.

I do not see this as back stabbing , its just being assertive.

we never stopped supporting them, did we ever ask them to give us $200 billion
with your theory we are right in asking for it and they should give it to us otherwise we will consider is backstab

Fair points. But, the Arab countries also helped Pakistan during its wars with India and also during economic crisis and natural disasters.
If Pakistan had earlier participated in action against the Houthi rebels, their refusal now would not be easily understood.
