usually Yuan Dan is 1/1 on solar calender, and the 1/1 on Lunar Calender is "new Years", at least that's how I've been using it for the last 23 years.

Really? Chinese only use "Yuan Dan" for the Jan 1st of the Gregorian calendar?
It was confused 'cause I often see animated banners of "元旦快乐" on Chinese TV shows these days.
Vietnamese use "Yuan Dan" for our Lunar New Year.
