Yes we will.

In other news, another Tejas variant, the Naval LCA Mk1 has made a maiden landing and take-off from the first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant!

This is historic, marking the first time an Indian designed and Indian built naval fighter has landed on an Indian designed and Indian built aircraft carrier. Marker of things to come in the future decades.

Why am I not surprised?! :-)

This has got to be one on of the most ugliest aircraft I have ever seen!
If it does the job as intended and achieves the goals set out for it within the stipulated timeframe - what it looks like is irrelevant

Well ... I thought we'll see it already late this or early next year??

Looks like they're going with 24-30 months from date of Cabinet Committee on Security approval for roll-out of the first prototype. That is what a tweet by Grp Cpt HV Thakur had indicated.

The CCS approval released funds (Rs 6500 crores) for the Tejas Mk2 program officially. That happened on 2-Sep-2022.

This rollout in financial year 2024-25 means it could be anytime between April 2024 to March 2025. HAL will obviously have a date in mind, but as of now they're going with just the financial year. It is disappointing for fanboys, but that is the deadline as far as the MoD, GoI and IAF are concerned based on what was committed during the CCS approval.

The other focus item for the IAF is the Tejas Mk1A, the first of which is going to be delivered to the IAF in February 2023. Thankfully, HAL is on track to deliver on schedule as per official pronouncements.

yes, if CCS approval happened on Sep 2, then it really is not HAL's fault.
