Pakistan continues to face numerous challenges and obstacles in the form of terrorism. We are seeing various terrorist organizations throughout the country push their terrorist agenda forward by any means possible. To make matters worse, it has been reported that Daesh is also attempting to establish its foothold inside Pakistan. Furthermore, several Pakistan-based terror organizations have openly pledged their allegiance to Daesh. At the same time, Pakistani security forces are working night and day to counter the growing threat of terrorism. It goes without saying that the need of the hour is to stand united against these enemies of peace.

Please share your opinion in regards to what must be done collectively to negate the growing threat of terrorism.

my personal pov to the issue is that the trend that is being followed in our neighboring countries is what being followed here.
The extremists or as commonly called Islamists were inclined towards Taliban's call for a fight for a greater cause - the establishment of Khilafah in Afghanistan. However all that went cold when the call came for Peace Dialogue between Afghan Government and Taliban came.
All those militants turned there heads towards AQ, given their ideological background, with the hope that AQ will help them get what Taliban couldn't;t. But with mounting pressure from US, and all that hard effort put in by US countering the AQ threat in Africa, Yemen, Afghanistan & most of all death of OBL, gave a big blow to scattered AQ leadership.
With rise of ISIS / Daesh militants saw the opportunity to switch sides again and turn their heads to their new Ameer - Baghdadi ......
Same thing is happening in Pakistan, when we have squashed the heads of major Terrorist organizations and their leaders hiding in their ratholes, the Islamists are out to look for new Umbrella to cover their head with....
But government and LEA are working hard to curbing this menace of the society.

Those that have joined Daesh are nothing more than rebranded taliban. The threat hasn't grown, it's simply changed it's name.

Terrorism is also decreasing as a direct result of military operations, even if the attacks themselves are getting more deadly.

Nothing will yield any result until we don't register Madrassas + keep a close eye on Clerics & and disrupt fundraising and identify their source of income..The Govt of Pak must fight a war of ideas against extremist ideology both at home and in our neighbour country where Mullah radio like minded folks reside..Intelligence agencies should increase information sharing between our own agencies and one of the central failures leading to stop terrorists attack are lack of sufficient information sharing between entities across the government...

well i guess it decreasing , but the insurgents are now targeting soft targets like kids , our Army hits them where once they use to enjoy their juices with dates , so now they are on the run , and thanks to India and Afghanistan who are hosting the TTP , and US makes the blind eye over it , we cant get the leadership ...If American really care about removing the Filth of Terrorism from Pakistan , Stop Indians and ANA from Supporting and Protecting TTP leadership ...

What are you talking about? Statistics show there were 43% fewer terror related acts in 2015 compared to the same time in 2014.

the biased thread title alone shows how much usa wants to see pakistan terrorism free. Cant expect much from ppl like you, when army was toiling hard in zarb e azb pilloring terrorists, your criminal media was working overtime in showing how pakistan is doing nothing to root out terorism . We were getring our young men martyred ,maimed, amputated , yet despite that whilst recovering from their fresh amputation wounds they would resiliently speak of eradicating terrorism. and what we were getting in return were filthy junk write ups and analysis by christine fair sort of myopic and zero intellectual insight-possessing writers. According to whom army is playing duplicitious games and poor usa is totally at pakistan's mercy shelling out aid in hope pakistan will not let its nuclear weapons slip into terrorists' hands ,who will eventually launch them at usa. Yes the terrorists who dont know the first thing about how to fire nukes unless ofcourse trained by india , usa .

And if somebody thinks usa has hammered and pilloried al qaeda hence breaking its back and all that , then i would suggest better read fairy tales in its place, they are far more convincing.

Simple, help promote Pakistan to the world. Give them some positive press @CENTCOM

If you are truly truly genuine about this relationship then get your news channels and help to start building a positive image of the country. Surely there is something good to report and just a bit of air time here and there.

It doesn't cost anything but can make a huge difference on a people to people level.

If you look at our COIN campaign over the last decade and compare it to other countries in MENA region, you'd see that we are the only country which has successfully defeated the insurgencies from our territory with an exception of a small region in FATA where the ops are ongoing.

Secondly i'd like you to consider how Pakistan is conducting OpZarbEAzb. It was an operation with 2 strategies, first was conventional COIN ops on the ground where terrorists held territorial lands, second was to mount a gigantic internal clean up operation which has lead to over 32,347 suspects being arrested on various charges in 28,826 coordinated raids all over Pakistan, under National Action Plan until march.

As for Daesh, i doubt they'll ever be able to have a foothold as a organisation in Pakistan. If it ever comes to that, Pakistan will be their graveyard.

Dealing with illegal foreigners, deporting Afghan refugees, sealing the border & imposing strict laws against terrorists is the only way to stop or put an end to terrorism in Pakistan.

totally disagree with you that threat of terrorism is growing, its in fact just the opposite of what you stated, fact & figures may also state the same... one cant deny the fact that PA oprns against TTP have resulted in a reduced terrorist attacks and these scumbags are on the run. The terrorists org your referring to pledging alliance to this so called Daesh got their leader hiding inside Afghanistan which is under your control of years... people of Pakistan are united against those internal & external forces who working day & nite to destabilize Pakistan....rest assure people of Pakistan are more vigilant than ever before........
