General Irfan Malik Who Threatened Maryam Nawaz Superseded

He wasn't court-martialed, so it won't count. The political engineering has become an accepted norm in the military. General Faiz's entire career dealt with securing deals for Bajwa and extending favors to PTI on bajwa's orders. Similarly, if some PTI sympathizer comes back at the helm of the GHQ, the current ISI officials will also be superceded in the same way and be allowed to retire with all the benefits in tact.

This is why ISI's domestic/political wing needs to be disbanded altogether. The problem is then what do politicians rely on to keep an eye on everyone else? Create another FSB?

Also a ban on cross-branch/high level meetings without a govt representative present.

IMO our problem is that we have a general lack of leadership in the country.

It's not just a civilian or military issue, but as a nation, we lack the mechanisms to build leaders. So, everyone across the board is fumbling the ball right now, be it generals, opposition, judges, and so on.

Even if I take the military's goals at face value, they're not achieving what they want to achieve, and they won't with the methods they're employing. So, the question now is, why isn't there anyone in the military putting tabs on this?

It literally seems that anyone with an IQ above room temp isn't allowed to lead anything -- literally a n y t h i n g -- in Pakistan, from armies to governments to institutions.

When was the last time such thing happen?

If military had put tab on unlimited power that army generals wields, 1971 would not have happened.
"Ladies and gentlemen, 1971 was not a military defeat" Last duffer chief.
And the morons believe that as well. It's depressing that there is no introspection or learning.
