would be so cool is there was a global internet free from govt restrictions. Why cant our billionaires be innovative like this? Nawas Sharif etc needs to get into starting a private space company.

Well that is a great question , it all starts with having a "Trust Worthy Government" who does not want a 10% cut or Army that does not want a 50% cut from budget

The best thing about Starlink is that it can't be blocked by any government. The only way to block it is to shoot down the Starlink satellites.

Yep , best way to be free of Pamra and goons and see what the world is doing

Every Pakistani should go to Elon Musk's twitter account and say please offer free internet over Pakistan

So we can be free of these Army's control over media and Bhangi Media , showing PML Lifafa journalist

This is interesting.

What if a government orders Starlink to stop /block certain content and threatens to fine them badly?

They can't. It's satellite based internet, can't be blocked. They can't fine them either, the company is located in the US. The only way to block it is by jamming the signal from the ground receiver unit but if there are tens of thousands of units all over the country, the government has to find out where they are located and then jam them; an impossible task.

Starlink is a 30,000 rupees a piece + probably a lakh after duty and import charges. Avg Pakistani will not be able to afford it, Pakistani gov't will never allow peasants to access the free internet.

ASAT weapons can shoot down starlink, but it would cause an international incident.

Elon will simply give them the middle finger. There's nothing they do to stop Starlink. Which country will try to shoot down Starlink satellites?

15 Pakistanis can come to together to buy the package. 30000/15 = 2000. Starlink for only Rs. 2000 is peanuts. Even if 15 users use it simultaneously, it is still fast enough for each user to comfortably use it.

Starlink at the moment has 4000 plus satellites in orbit. Shooting 1 sattelite with an ASAT weapon will cause fragmentation ofr thousands of pieces. Problem with debris in space is that it tends to travel really fast. A piece travelling 15k mph hitting other sattelites will probably cause a chain reaction. The US hit one of its sattelites in 1985 in low earth orbit. China recently did it with if im not mistaken the df21 at around 500 miles. Starlink sattelites are at around 350 miles in orbit. Third world countries do not have the complex guidance to have a warhead hit a fridge in space travelling God know how fast. All countries with ASAT weapons have better ground based lasers to blind enemy spy sattelites or so I hope that when push comes to shove the space nuclear option of destroying satellites.
