Egyptian Navy to get 4 Gowind Corvvettes With TOT

Still its a costly ship bro. You get whole new frigate at that cost.

The acquisition of advanced ship building technology in itself is more valuable than the Corvettes. Not only will Alexandria shipyard be able to build Corvettes in the near future as a result of this deal but it is already being upgraded in order to build frigate sized vessels with the Chinese by 2020-2023.

In contrast the Malaysian Navy is paying $2.5B for six similar vessels without any ToT or co-production.

Dont know bro. But if you ask me, advanced F-22P will be much better choice for EN.

BTW, did France transferring metallurgical technology of steel that use in modern combat ship, or just welding tech, and still will directly imported from France. Without that even building ship in Alexandria is of no use, because you still depend on France for that.

The EN is looking towards the FREMM (Italian or French) as a future frigate along side what it will be able to produce in cooperation with China.

The specifics of the deal have not yet been released. We will be dependent of France for a while, but the transfer of tech from several nations as well as our own R&D will inevitably in an advanced and largely independent ship building industry. Whereas
if we just bought them off the shelf for a lower price the above can never happen.
