In 1995, the Egyptian Air Force placed an order for 36 AH-64A helicopters. In 2000, Boeing announced an order to remanufacture Egypt's existing Apache fleet to the AH-64D configuration. Egypt requested a further 12 AH-64D Block II Apaches through a Foreign Military Sale in 2009

Its a M1A1! Some 1,005 M1A1 tanks were co-produced by the U.S. and Egypt for the Egyptian army. Another 200 tanks have been ordered.

Nothing. I am simply explaining why an Apache is depicted. Or do you think these ships somehow can't handle AH-64 Apache's, even though they are not 'navalized'?

Egypt is buying Ka-52K. The Ka-52K (NATO reporting name Hokum-B) is a naval attack variant of the Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter. Its distinguishing features include a folding rotor head, folding stub-wings and reinforced landing gear intended to support ship-borne attacks. Its weapons pods are capable of holding and launching Kh-38 and Kh-35 cruise missiles.

The ships are each designed to carry up to 16 Ka-27/29 Helix anti submarine/assault or Ka-52 (Hokum B) strike helicopters.

Every helicopter operated by the French military is capable of flying from these ships. On 8 February 2005, a Westland Lynx of the Navy and a Cougar landed on Mistral. The first landing of a NH90 took place on 9 March 2006. Half of the air group of the BPCs is to be constituted of NH-90s, the other half being composed of Tigre attack helicopters. On 19 April 2007, Puma, Écureuil and Panther helicopters landed on Tonnerre. On 10 May 2007, a MH-53E Sea Dragon of the US Navy landed on her reinforced helicopter spot off the U.S. Naval Station Norfolk. More recently, in jul. 2015, the class got certified to work with V-22 Osprey (one of the flight spots is specially strengthened for V-22 and CH-53). It has also crossdecked Spanish CH-47s in december 2015.

According to Mistral's first commanding officer, Capitaine de vaisseau Gilles Humeau, the size of the flight and hangar decks would allow the operation of up to thirty helicopters

Interestingly, the removal of Russian radio-electronic systems installed in the two vessels was completed in November 2015.I suppose that is with a view to integrating with other Egyptian navy ships, many of which are US sourced.
