China is investing about 400 billions dollars in Iran to cater his energy needs and in different other projects. Can anyone comment that what will be its effect on CPEC/Gwadar. Will it be beneficial for us or its alternative of CPEC route

I dont think so China will be investing that much in near future in iran. There is issue of trade war with US and sanctions on iran. The US can sanction china too, US still hold the major power. China will first want to have a solution in Afghanistan and start earning from CPEC and later it might extend it.

CPEC is China Pakistan economic corridor
it's not related to Iran and why would Iran use Gawadar port

I think iran in Chinese camp will help pakistan as it will reduce iran to cooperate with india to target Pakistan

I am talking about its effect in Gwadar Port/CPEC. Not the use of Gwadar port by Iran. As in case of strong bonding with Iran, China will have another option of Chah Bahar port also

China’s Iran partnership would supplement and reinforce its long-standing strategic participation with Pakistan. Obviously, Beijing wants strategic relationships with both. However, the Iranian partnership offers China another strategic ‘window’ besides CPEC and insurance against possible US or Indian disruption of the China-Pakistan corridor

If US sanctions China, China will sanction US, China is the world biggest trading nation, manufacturing nation and consumer market, US can't hurt China before hurting themselves more for a mutual sanctioning.

China is being damaged more by US than the other way round. See how huawei is reeling. China can be the biggest manufacturer but that role can be taken by many other countries including vietnam, Bangladesh, india, malaysia, indonesia and Pakistan. China will suffer more if all the big companies leave china and establish manufacturing plants in those countries. As far as consumer market is concerned, china is very strict about giving access to its markets and that is one of main points of the trade war. US wants more market access in China and relaxation of their laws.

Huawei is faring pretty well, and China's exports and trade surplus soared since the trade war with US a year ago, US now tries to make a deal and China is not in a hurry, China prefers to wait it out until US presidential election next year cause we are doing fine, but US can't wait. and in a long run, who will give up the world biggest market, China is taking more and more shares of the world economy, this trend won't change and US knows that.

China invest in Pakistan because China trust Pakistan and China has faith in Pakistan. Pakistan is China's best strategic friend.

Iran has oil, natural gas, influence in Shiah, and Hormoz. Iran has too many enemies, no one would love invest tens of billions, the risk is too high.
