ECP to deliberate over FAFEN demands
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will meet this week to deliberate upon the demands put forth by Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN), an official said.
FAFEN member Sarwar Bari had demanded of the ECP to release report of its 400 monitors in the last year general elections.
According to the ECP official, the meeting would review alleged irregularities in May 11, 2013 general elections.
He further said that the report of election monitors was not prepared to publish but only for a purpose to maintain the commission’s record. The similar reports of the past elections were also not published, he added.
Returning officers (ROs) have not yet dispatched electoral forms of several constituencies to the ECP, the official said. -Samaa
