C-Check performed on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in Azerbaijan for the first time in the CIS

Azerbaijani "Silk Way Technics" company, for the first time among the CIS countries performed base maintenance in the C-Check volume on a modern Boeing 787-8 "Dreamliner".

As part of the C-Check base maintenance, a total of 1,679 hours were spent on scheduled and 174 hours - unscheduled work.

This maintenance is one of the most thorough and complex types of validation of efficiency of all systems, equipment and structure of the aircraft. It is performed at strictly defined intervals, measured by the number of flight hours, the number of landings, or the aircraft's operating time. This form of maintenance is much more labor-intensive and strictly periodic.

It should be noted that earlier "Silk Way Technics" performed a similar base maintenance on Boeing 747-8 aircraft.

These wide innercity roads, I dont like them, they scream Soviet influence. Reminds me of some roads in eastern German cities.

City should be pedestrian friendly first.

But needless to say the city looks more organized and tidy than any Turkish city I've been.

Azerbaijan's $25m wind expansion

The plans form part of the existing state strategy for the development of renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan, and in particular wind power.

Following the investment, the Yeni Yashma project in Khizi, 100km northwest of Baku is set to be expanded from 20 turbines to 34-40 turbines.

This will allow its capacity to increase from the current 50MW to 70-80MW.

Elsewhere, an expansion is also planned for a second wind project, also located in the Khizi district. It is currently comprised of two wind turbines, however it is planned this will increase up to 16 units by the middle of the current year.

Total potential of renewables in Azerbaijan exceeds 12GW, while the potential of wind power is estimated at 3.5GW.

As part of the plans, the Azerbaijanian government is further investigating wind sites along the coast of the Caspian Sea.
