Economic Development in Azerbaijan

Damn Azeris, you will gaine a lot of currency and influence with those pipelines. I wonder how high the transit fees are.

that's just the beginning :D

once Shah Deniz 2 is complete, Shah Deniz 3 will start and alternative energy projects will also kick in, including a nuclear plant, it will push export capability even further.

this doesn't include LNG Terminals

and then there are Petrochemical projects worth 15 to 20 billion dollars in Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
which will bring billions in revenue to SOCAR annually.

@Azeri440, yesterday The Guardian wrote some articles about the "Azerbaijani Laundromat":

"Azerbaijan’s ruling elite operated a secret $2.9bn (£2.2bn) scheme to pay prominent Europeans, buy luxury goods and launder money through a network of opaque British companies, an investigation by the Guardian reveals."

"Some of this money went to politicians and journalists, as part of an international lobbying operation to deflect criticism of Azerbaijan’s president, Ilham Aliyev, and to promote a positive image of his oil-rich country. There is no suggestion that all the recipients were aware of the original source of the money. It arrived via a disguised route."

I am wondering if the news and the details reached Azerbaijan already or medias are being silenced. :D

I don't quite get why there seems to be a separation among the turks in the forum. But I think it's obvious from the few comments above that you ppl can't talk properly with each other without using insults.

But this thread is about Azerbaijan/Azerbaidjan so stay on topic please. comments that doesn't make sense should be left outside.

I don't even get what Atalay meant with his comments, but could understand it was meant as some sort of an insult.

Azerbeycan can't import a KURAN without Putins sake. Sorry for the truth.

Azerbaijan is currently building the biggest energy project to Europe, and together with other countries will put a dent on Russian energy monopoly in Europe, and you think Azerbaijan is influenced by Russia?

Azerbaijan eyes to earn $800M per year from Star refinery

Abdullayev further spoke about the company assets in Turkey, noting that annual income of Azerbaijan’s economy from the Star oil refinery, being constructed by SOCAR on Aliaga Peninsula in Turkey, will exceed $600 million within the first five years after its commissioning.

Over the next 10 years, the annual income will exceed $800 million, according to him.

“The refinery’s construction will be completed in the second half of 2018. The refinery will primarily provide naphtha to the Petkim petrochemical complex, which aims to take up to 30 percent share of the Turkish market,” Abdullayev said.

SOCAR, being the largest foreign investor in Turkey, is the author of very important and large-scale projects in the energy industry. SOCAR entered the Turkish market with the acquisition of Petkim. The company’s investments in Turkey will be a total of $19.5 billion once they are completed -Petlim, STAR Oil Refinery, Petkim Wind Power Plant (WPP) and TANAP projects.

Building permit issued for IGB’s Bulgarian section

Bulgaria’s Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has issued a permit for construction of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) on Bulgaria’s territory, said the message on the ministry’s website.

The permit was issued for construction on the territory of Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Kardzhali districts.

In accordance with the order signed by the Minister Nikolay Nankov, permission is given to the contractor to carry out the planned construction and assembly works in accordance with the approved project, said the report.

IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.

The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas. The project’s cost is estimated at around 240 million euros.

SOCAR to allow other companies use ACG infrastructure

The new agreement on development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields until 2050 envisages the use of the project’s spare infrastructure capacities for the needs of other projects, a source in Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR told Trend.

The new agreement sets forth conditions and procedures for using the ACG’s spare infrastructure capacities, according to the source.

"For example, if in the future, there is need to lay a pipeline to the Sangachal terminal onshore within the implementation of one of the projects, it will be possible to use the available capacities, both pipeline and terminal ones," the source said.

The source noted that in general, SOCAR will be making decisions regarding the capacities.

"If the use of infrastructure capacities within other projects directly affects material interests of the ACG, their operators will pay compensation," the source said. "These payments are related to commercial interests, and not to operating costs. The operators will pay the operating costs themselves as well."
