Dhaka seeks Islamabad's official apology for its 1971 genocide

Bangladesh needs to understand that no Pakistani political leader would apologize as it will end his/her political career.

It is better to move on.

Official apology is not a big deal, but my worry is it wont change anything. Bangladesh has nothing to offer to Pakistan.

Its a tiny over populated country, with no geo strategic or economical importance. If Afghanistan has said the same for whatever reasons, I would have supported as it does effect Pakistan.
apologie requests between nations are always blackmail in veil.. unless it's a two way apology.neither Afghanistan nor Bangladesh is in position to blackmail Pakistan. We dont need any apologies from afghanistan for what it did with Pakistan from 47 to 80s.

Uhhhh... You all are stupid.

Awami league is in deep trouble. So playing the Pakistan card and 71 card helps them maintain their sense of being and legitimacy to their blind supporters. If awami league politicians dont bash pakistan, their political career is over.

80℅ of bd is against awami league today.

Its only a matter of time before thier house of cards fall flat on their face...

Apology wont change a thing, for pakistan or bd. A pak apology to awami league will give awami league an ego boost and diplimatic victory.

Best wait untill awami league is removed to improve Relationship. Apology is importent. But, it must only happen when the correct govt comes to power in Dhaka. One that will extend the hand of friendship and co operation to pak, in return for apology.

lol... point being, they cant say NO to china, but also cant raise their eyes in front of India (aka displease them)... thus coming up with shitty things like official apology crap.... so as to address both ends... poor fellows.... i really feel sorry for them.... i think its best we let them do as they please, till the shiny lady in armour is leading the country.... I dont wanna abuse but like WTF are u even thinking asking for non sense stuff to begin with... i wont be surprised if the orders came directly for Modi gang for BD, but still how one can stoop this low...
we dont mind being on good terms, but with this shitty attitude of urs, lol we are more than happy to see u sitting in Modi's lap for like forever... it wont matter.... to be honest, BD is almost irrelevant in these times, mostly because of themselves... wish u best of luck with tat...
No ill feelings, grow and become stronger.... best of luck. Between, Next time learn some manners else, lil spanking here and dere would be something u brought onto urself.

Even if we apologize, the Hindu slaves in Dhaka will never shut up and will demand more humiliation for our nation. As 29th state of Hindu India they are obliged to suck up and burn all the bridges they have to their fellow Muslims in Pakistan.

The younger Pak-Bd generation:

- intermarries
- is friends with each other
- doesn't care about 1971 because they weren't born and for countries with such young populations 50 years are ancient history
- loves Muslim brotherhood
- doesn't care about GDP numbers because they also know having prostitutes working in Hindu India (some Bangladeshi posters take pride in the legality of this disgusting business) and government with a similiar attitude is nothing a Muslim can be proud of

Congrats GDP-Desh, the "I-want-to-leave-my-country"-index of BD is at 99.99998 % now. You just had to become a Hindu protectorate! Mubarak ho!

It may be part of cosmetics Bangladesh Government needs before they improve their relationship. I would put an "if" before my statement and offer an apology, something like this:

"Pakistan has no evidence of what Bangladesh claims, but if this has been the case, it is against our principles and standards and we would apologise for the individual misconducts".

Bangladesh has reiterated the importance of resolving outstanding bilateral issues with Pakistan, including offering of an official apology from Pakistan for the genocide it committed during Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971, reports UNB.

Dhaka also sought completion of the repatriation of Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh, and settling the issue of the division of assets.

State minister for foreign affairs Md Shahriar Alam raised the issues when newly appointed high commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh Imran Ahmed Siddiqui met him on Thursday.

The state minister cordially welcomed the high commissioner and highlighted that enhancing relations with all neighbouring countries was a foreign policy priority of the government.

"In line with that spirit, we look forward to engaging with Pakistan," he said.

Shahriar also urged Pakistan to grant access to more Bangladeshi products by utilizing the existing SAFTA provisions, relaxing the negative list and removing trade barriers.

The current trade balance tilts towards Pakistan.
High commissioner Siddiqui conveyed the very best wishes of the people and the government of Pakistan to the state minister and said he would give due diligence to advancing bilateral relations in every possible area of cooperation.
Both sides agreed on the need to hold the long-pending Foreign Office Consultations, which was last held in 2010.

The state minister assured the high commissioner of all cooperation and assistance during his tenure in Dhaka.

F*** apology!!! not in a million years! Every traitor deserves death!

The motive is political humiliation and nothing else. Hasina govt has made bangladeshi economy stronger than Pakistan hence they want to humiliate.

Another reason is when Ayaz Sadiqs and maryams can humiliate pak govt and military and go scott free, others will join in.

Might is right both economic and military. Pakistan civil mil leaders will continue to be humiliated if they go with the same political circus as now.
