Dhaka-Ctg road to have eight lanes

Because your super smart India has cultivated enmities with all of its neighbors around it. So, your army cannot move troops from other areas to Eastern Command. They have to keep substantial force in Pakistan and Chinese borders. They cannot deploy more than 8 mountain divisions against Bangladesh army. Unfortunately this is the ground reality.
Try it and find out otherwise keep stumph.

The might and reach of IAF and IN is enough to create havoc against an adversary without a potent air arm and Navy.
You can inflict damage upon our infrastructure by using air power but you cannot win the war unless and until you defeat Bangladesh army on the ground. War is not won in the air or in the sea.
Resources required to counter these would be astronomical for a country and economy of your size.
Cheap Chinese military hardware is enough to spank IA. By the by, we own a larger economy than your number one enemy Pakistan.

We have to take precautions for the worst possible scenarios.
After reading maps and your many posts, I now believe that the Dhaka-Chittagong road should re-route and cross the Padma Bridge to Bhanga and again go south and east via the coast line to reach Chittagong Port.

Even though the terrified and coward people would find Indian attacks in this route, I would recommend the route I proposed to sooth your mind.

Go ahead and talk to the GoB.

Thank you for the sensible post, bhai.:-)

BD is vulnerable in all sides of its border. Changing route of an important road is no solution. But, an enemy country cannot just send troops near the border at will. India also cannot do it.

Dhaka- Chittagong road has been staying since 1947 or before. We have Mainamoti Cantonment in Comilla with underground facilities.

Many people see BD surrounded by Indian land. But, in reality, India is vulnerable in its NE because of BD’s existence in between.

India itself is vulnerable. No wonder, India seeks no enmity from BD.

Congrats on that. How did it materialise?
Our private sector has made it possible through excellent performance.

Moreover, many people see BD surrounded by Indian land think we are vulnerable. But, unreality, India is vulnerable in its NE. India has to bypass BD land.

So, India itself is vulnerable. No wonder, India seeks no enmity from BD.
Thank you for the informative reply.:-)

Nope. Life is much better, It is humans that make it like that, out of their own greed, compulsions and artificially created fears.

Greed, compulsion and fear is what's keeping the Indian identity enforced upon 1.45bn weak people.

Doesn’t seem so.
On the contrary these traits are visible in your homeland that aspires to “finger” India within this decade.
When, India comes with a fist, don’t cry. As in the past.

The onus is on India to peacefully resolve the Kashmir dispute. Don't hold us responsible for your choices.

India always wanted to do that. But Paksiatn has been doing the opposite since 1948 and that too multiple times. India finally lost faith in Paksiatni intentions and repealed 370.

When you had time to choose, you chose war over peace.

Now that option has been removed and India has decided what to do with it’s Kashmir.

Unlike earlier Indian governments, the current set in India would take the war into your homes, if you decide to meddle in our internal affairs.

I know that you would make bombastic statements and claim the same against India, but dynamics have changed. Your nation would realise this very soon, considering your internal situation and the economy. Your rulers, especially your establishment have realised this.

It would percolate down to the masses within few years. Sit tight.

That’s good to hear. Best thing would be to have home grown capabilities to create mega infrastructures and not depend on anyone from outside.

But, BD still lacks in certain areas. It can allow companies from outside to help. Due diligence should be done with penalty clauses to ensure that no one takes you for a ride.
Some scumbags try and take us also for ride. They can do the same to anyone else too.

Please don’t get carried away and claim anything. Be a little realistic.

We have good relations with all except China and Paksiatn. Our relations have improved with BD, than, they were a decade back. Some members here may cry otherwise but your rulers know that good relations with India make good sense.

As far as taking troops, we have enough strategic capability in his regard and can take them from anywhere to anywhere. Don’t start daydreaming in this regard.

Chinese weapon has proved its worth against the Indian army in all wars in the South Asia. Our defense planners are also of the same opinion that cheap Chinese weapons are more appropriate for Bangladesh because our defense budget is limited.

You have good relation with Awami League not Bangladesh. India has gotten the benefit of free transit and port usage which has gone against our national interest. It has created resentment in Bangladesh against India.

To tie down forces from Pakistan and China, you are not in a position to commit enough troops against Bangladesh and Myanmar. Please ask your generals about this. And strategic capability means nuclear asset which you cannot use against Bangladesh because of your no first use policy. I know you are making efforts to make good relations with Bangladesh. But your national policy about Bangladesh is making it worse. The BJP govt. is making all efforts to make good relation with Awami League and alienating other political parties which has created widespread anti Indian feeling in the country.

Pakistan has no interest in any peace with India. She will respond at a time and place of her choosing.
