Delhi may ignore Jayalalithaa demand on training Lankan forces

Victory of Tamilnadu, Cheers! Time to have celebrations...
As a race it may be victory for some Tamils in Tamilnadu, but as a country majority of Indians/India lost it! ;)

Yeah its true , except Indian tamils majority of Indians are sympathizer of SL.

Most of them here giving advice to change their training camp alone , SL navy atrocities on tamil fisherman is not their concern. Long-live India-SL friendship .

"friendship" XD
This may be another chance to another country to romance with SL.

Its like a "switch'... can be turned back on in an instant.

The relationship is not based on certain events. Both countries know and discuss and understand the issues of each other and act according to that..

A few opinions by a few youth in an online forum dont hold much on ground realities other than knowing the opinion of the poster himself.

And why do u want another country to come and romance you ... sounded more like a PRO on a street hunting for horny romancers.

TN fishermen jump to SL waters, what shall your central government must do for that when the fault is yours and your race? This is like thieves asking support from the police to do their robbery acts!

Transponder-fitted boats to enhance security of fishermen
PTI | 04:07 PM,Jul 06,2012

Chennai, July 6 (PTI) Government plans to encourage transponder fitted boats for fishermen to increase their communication links and boost their security. "We are slowly going to bring out a new system, which will help them for communication. I think it is transponders, which we are trying to bring out," Shipping Minister G K Vasan told reporters, after inaugurating the state-of-the art Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) at Chennai Port. "Fishermen will be given these transponders. They have a connecting facility with a tower, which is in the port. And the state government will also be involved in this," he said. Vasan was replying to a question on incidents of attack on Tamil Nadu fishermen allegedly by Lankan Navy and collision of a commercial ship with a boat off Kerala coast. He said the VTMS, set up at a cost of Rs 9.82 crore for securing the highest standards of safety to the vessels would be an added advantage to the port's signal station. To a question on the menace posed by pirates on high seas, he said the shipping ministry was in total co-ordination with Ministries of Defence and External Affairs. Government could bring back 230 sailors safely and in good health. "Of course, there are about 35-40 of them back there (in captivity). It is our duty to see that the government brings them back safely and send them home. This is an ongoing process, which we are doing," he said. On the Sethu Samudram project issue, the Minister said the project was important not only for the development of Tamil Nadu, but also for the country's overall development. However, he declined to elaborate, saying it was subjudice. VTMS would be helpful to the port management to monitor, record, analyse and update information system online for all vessels entering and leaving the harbour and the data can be used for all statistical purposes, including collection of revenue from the ships, he said. It also has, among other things, special features for oil spill detection and distribute VTS (Vessel Traffic Services) information to other stakeholders like Indian Navy and Coast Guard, besides a built-in VLR (VTS Logging and Replay),which was similar to the black box in an aircraft.PTI DSJ MS BN

Everyone has respect, if someone invite to their homes and treating like this describe their culture!

Haha.. diplomacy is not like " We invite you to come and have training". There are certain modalities regarding the decision made on foreign secretary level where they sit and discuss these things.

You sounded like :

India: come SL we give u training.*Me gusta*
SL: Here we come. *trollface*
TN:*Fuuuuuuuu*... *you dont say*
India: Le me say go back SL * we have a badd a$$ over here*
TN: *fap fap fap*
SL: * poker face*
India: * close enough*

Would you invite a killer who has killed someone in your family to your home and treat them well? If yes, then good for Sri Lankan culture..

Frankly I don't understand why Sri Lankan security forces continue to train in India given this continuing hostility. Perhaps it is the cost factor? Meaning either it is free or subsidized? But there are far better defence training establishments elsewhere in the world, including in China and Russia.

its because they are pretty good

“I believe what this demonstrates is that the capacity exists out there for any nation with the appropriate resources and the will to acquire technology and to train their aircrews to be very, very capable,” said Col. Russ Handy, commander of the 3rd Operations Group. “In the long term this could occur in nations outside of the Indian Air Force.”

The surprising sophistication of Indian fighter aircraft and skill of Indian pilots demonstrated at the Cope India air combat exercise Feb. 15 through 27 at Gwalior Air Force Station, India, should provide a reality check for those who had assumed unquestioned U.S. air superiority
Hampton Stephens

“The (Indian) pilots are as aggressive as our pilots. They are excellent aviators; they work very hard at mission planning; they try to get as much out of a mission or sortie as possible, just like us,” he said. “From one fighter pilot to another, there’s really not that much difference in how we prepare for a mission and what we want to get out of it.”
Col. Greg Neubeck

"very proficient in [their] aircraft and smart on tactics. That combination was tough for us to overcome,"

"The adversaries are better than we thought," Col. Mike Snodgrass added.” And in the case of the Indian Air Force both their training and some of their equipment was better than we anticipated."

“What we’ve seen in the last two weeks is the IAF can stand toe-to-toe with best AF in the world.”

“I pity the pilot who has to face the IAF and chances the day to underestimate him; because he won’t be going home.”

“The greatest compliment we heard from an IAF pilot – You American pilots are just like us, simply down to earth people.”
The Boresight: Swirl of Controversy: Cope India and Red Flag 2008 Exercises

The outcome of the exercise boils down to [the fact that] they ran tactics that were more advanced than we expected, Snowden says. India had developed its own air tactics somewhat in a vacuum. They had done some training with the French that we knew about, but we did not expect them to be a very well-trained air force.

"The Indian Air Force is a world-class air force with great aircraft, great pilots, and great leadership," said Capt. Marcus Wilson, an Aggressor pilot at Nellis and the team chief for the exercise.

Indian pilots have created their own combat techniques and proved to be very smart, flexible and adaptive. This was also not an expected fact because Western tactical experts used to stay on their vision of dealing with Russian style pilots with rigid tactics and no independent moves what so ever. All this matters combined points out the Indian fighters to a real considerable threat leaving the Western analysts and USAF Command thinking it over how credible their own weapons are.

"We came rolling in, like, 'Beep-beep, superpower coming through,'" Colonel Fornof told me. "And we had our eyes opened. We learned a lot. By the third week, we were facing a threat that we weren't prepared to face, because we had underestimated them. They had figured out how to take Russian-built equipment and improve upon it."

"When we saw that they were a more professional air force, we realized that within the constraints of the exercise we were going to have a very difficult time," Snowden (A USAF senior pilot at cope india)says. "In general, it looked like they ran a broad spectrum of tactics and they were adaptive. They would analyze what we were doing and then try something else. They weren't afraid to bring the strikers in high or low. They would move them around so that we could never anticipate from day to day what we were going to see."

you have to think before sending invitations for them!

It is unfortunate, but Sri Lanka clearly cannot depend on India either politically, militarily or economically. This was shown during the war and continues even after the war.
Then you don't know what the heck you're talking about. Nuff said!

I will kill all the babus if the trainning is stoped JUST bcoz of Jayalalitha's request.
