Deadly clash claims 16 lives in Kohat​

Authorities have intensified security measures in the area, and investigations are underway

KOHAT:
In a tragic incident of gunfire, 16 people have lost their lives and 3 others have been injured in a clash between the tribal sub-district of Kohat's Adham Khel and Kundi tribes. The wounded individuals and the deceased have been transported to local hospitals in Kohat and Peshawar.

The police and security forces have been deployed to the area to restore peace, and a case has been registered at the Darra Adam Khel police station to investigate the incident.

According to details, tensions between the Adham Khel and Kundi tribes over territorial boundaries in the mountainous region had been simmering for a while. However, on Monday afternoon, the situation took a violent turn when an unexpected exchange of fire erupted between the rival factions.

As a result, 4 individuals from the Adham Khel tribe and 12 individuals from the Sunni Kundi tribe lost their lives in the confrontation. Additionally, 3 people sustained injuries during the intense gunfire and have been admitted to hospitals in Peshawar.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Kohat DPO Farhan Khan, along with the Darra Adam Khel SDPO Abid Afridi, and SHO Tariq Mahmood reached the scene. Military and civil administration officials were also present to address the situation.

The authorities have intensified security measures in the area, and investigations are underway to determine the causes and those responsible for the unfortunate incident.
