CPEC group forecasts energy shortfall to increase to 10,844MW

Every country has finite financial resources with the country’s allocating the available funds in the way that seems best.

I wouldn’t even care to talk of PPP Gov’ts, they have destroyed the economy each time they come to power, biggest destroyer being Mr ZA Bhutto who killed off Pakistan’s industrial progress for at least 30 years. However even the supposedly industry PML gov’t; it being their third term in office; did not do much better because of their lopsided priorities.

Time & again PML-N have wasted away national wealth on their pet projects. In 1992 it was the yellow cab scheme. Can anyone say with honesty that yellow cab schemes helped the common man anyway? Only result was provision of free cars to the clients of Sharif family and of the local MNA/MP’s. Now it is turn of the Metro projects.

Railways has been the primary means of ‘Mass Transit’ in virtually every country of the world whether ‘Intercity’ or ‘Intra- city’. Not so in Pakistan. PPP destroyed a fairly decent railway network left to us by the British and PML-N is forcing Pakistanis to use road transport instead.

Billions of Tax payers money are being squandered on Metro buses whereas the same funds, if spent on Health, Education, power production and upgrading of transmission lines, would have been far more beneficial to the common man. Quality of workmanship is so poor that concrete falling from barely one year old bridge killed a pillion rider! Are we seeing another Nandipur in the making?

Power shortage as well as natural gas shortage can be remedied in 3 to 5 years provided given top priority by the government. Nawaz Sharif loves Metro buses and Imran Khan has replaced Taliban with ‘Dharna’ as his primary passion as nothing with satisfies Kaptaan until he becomes Pakistan’s PM by hook or by crook.

Obviously Pakistan’s calamity is lack of visionary leadership.

Actually, people are applauding Pakistan Railway.

Yes they're still running into loses, but it's not easy to turn around whilist being in debt. You've to gain consumers confidence, which you start by having firm arrival time, as it has been happening.

Yes money is wasted on metro bus, but it is something Lahore needed. Also train system. Not sure about Islamabad/pindi.
