I am sure that PAF would be interested in it in three Batches of 21 Y-9s till 2020. Along with 11 of CN-295 class chinese alternatives too.

C-130 no doubt is the best...i travelled in it many times....

umm sure it is not photochopped??

if the picture was taking inflight, wouldnt the blades be spinning and not only that but.. VISIBILY spinning..

there is not even any blur?? surely if they were spinning it would definitely cause a blur?

unless it what.. does a glide landing? lol

Y-9 is not even close to C-130. If you're talking Y-20 with ll-76 frames then, there might be some value.

Its essentially a re-worked An-12.

It is good step forward that China re-engineered AN-12 into Y-8/9 with better Airframe-Avionics-Turbo Prop Technology similar to the trends of US C-130 variants where russians failed at.

The Image is definitely Y-9 Variant. Compare it to this image of Y-9.

Y-9 is a direct answer to C-130. It does not have to be close to C-130in resemblance, But it is a positive step forwards to replace in the future all Y-8 Airframes in favor of Y-9 and a complete sync and commonality of Fleet.

Its same only blades are made by chinese:lol:.

WJ-6C turboprops with JL-4 6-blade propellers made of composite materials, which improve its high temperature and high altitude performance most likely, if not Patt & Whitney TurboProp.

Google for C-130 Takeoff you will see similar results.

Can someone explain me why the Y-8 is not as good as the C130j? On wikipedia the specs look very similar

LOL at ignorance. Y-9 is superior to C-130 because Chinese engineering consistently challenges and beats anything the West can produce. Y-9 carries 20+ tons, and 100 troops. China already has a prototype Y-20, that can carry 50+ tons.

With our newest transports we can drop heavy armor directly behind the enemy rear. This would be especially dangerous for our hostile neighbors like india.

LOL at indian inferiority. If only the blades are made by Chinese, where does the rest of the aircraft come from? From some third world country that talks big and has inferiority complex? :)

you know china is succeeding when indians are getting jealous.

Y-9 is a competitor to C-130J.

please dont compare your useless indian country with our mighty and powerful nation of china. china has Y-9 that compares with C-130J and Y-20 that compares with C-17.
