Comparing Pakistan’s Past Military Operations with Operation Zarb-e-Azb - PKKH.tv

Ttp can be neutralised ie they can be made dormant for a couple of years but they cant be destroyed by a military operation. Extremism is an ideology and the only way it can be destroyed is by bringing reforms in fata education. The most important would be to close down most of the madrassas where this ideology spreads from and the remaining be made govt controlled with a universal syllabus made by the govt and it does not contain hatred content like christians and jews cant be friends of muslims or that shias and ahmadis are kafirs etc

Like all the previous operations, this present operation will also fail to root out terrorism from Pakistani society.

they are not aiming to root out terrorism, aim is to keep them on the run so they cant plan and cant execute, and eventually their recruitment will die down. Also if you keep them on the run and they cant show much of the terrorist activities to their sponsors then their money supply will die.

"Eventually their recruitment will die down" is a hugely optimistic and likely erroneous assumption that goes against all available evidence. Oh, and their financing is totally unaffected by the current operation.

it will be eventually, you need to show performance to get the goodies. Like whats happening in Baluchistan, we dont hear much activities going on in baluchistan anymore. Its all about money, disturb their network, keep them on the run, their foreign financiers will loose interest if they dont see any activity.

These days Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan are a far more juicy target for terrorists. They continue to get massacred in droves in Pakistan, which is why terrorists in Pakistan have largely escaped to Afghanistan or are hiding among the population. In Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan they have safe havens. For all their bravado and "dying in the name of Allah", most of them were nowhere to be seen when army rolled into NWA and had escaped into Afghanistan.

The state policy toward the terrorists has become far more strict and we're now chasing them down in every corner of the country like we've never done before. Every day you hear news about terrorists getting killed or arrested in military, police or rangers operations. This was the action that a lot of us had been waiting for a long time. The next step would be to go after the sectarian outfit that don't necessarily classify as top-level terrorist outfits however that engage in terrorism nonetheless - LeJ, LeT, SSP, target killers etc.

No matter how much successful Operation Zarb E Azab will be, the problem is rented terrorists have spread through out Pakistan & are operating under different names. It would had been better if PA had started Military ops in Balochistan province along with Zarb e Azab. Similarly Karachi is under fire & almost all the rented terrorists are hiding in Karachi & that needs to be dealt with.
