chinese withdrawal

Ladakh: China and India have simultaneously withdrawn their troops from the face-off point at
Daulat Beg Oldie near the Line of Actual Control in
Ladakh, PTI has reported, quoting official sources.
Reportedly, the agreement was reached after high-
level tough negotiations from both sides. This ends the deadlock that began when Chinese
troops set up camp 19 kms into Indian territory in
the Depsang Valley in Ladakh. Soon after, India has
set up its own post just 500 kms away. Three flag meetings between commanders on both
sides had failed to resolve the stand-off. China-India stand-off at Ladakh ends, armies withdraw: Press Trust of India

So, if it is Indian territory, why did Indian troops leave?

If the news is honest and true in reporting, then one would understand that the Chinese left because they had intruded. But why did the Indian troops leave, when they are already within their own territory?

It was a no man's land, and there were no Indian forces at THAT PARTICULAR POINT. So the situation is back to what it always was, that the Chinese went back from their picnic.

Indian troops arrived there only AFTER the intrusion was detected, and set up camps 50 metres away. They are going back to their regular positions as well. Indian forces are not withdrawing from the entire region (daulat beg oldie), but from that point where they camped near the chinese.

Status quo ante bellum.

That's how it was before so they are going back to status-quo.

Small statement that Salman khurshid might cancel visit and the chinese fall in line.

Would prefer a non-Indian source.

Go find one if you are really desperate.. but since its an Indian issue then you will get Indians to report it first.

What will our beloved Hongwu do now?We were just one click away from an atomic bombardment:coffee:
