MOSCOW, September 21 - RIA Novosti. Russian specialists have used for modernization of aircraft carrier "Vikramaditya" in India Chinese bricks, said Friday the president of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Andrew Dyachkov.
The transfer of the ship Russia India on completion of all tests was originally scheduled for December 4, 2012. Some media reported that because of problems with steam boilers, three of the eight that during sea trials did not achieve full power transfer period may take at least a year, and repairs will cost a billion rubles.
Soon, these data were confirmed - Dyachkov announced that the repair will be completed in May 2013, and the deadline ship, according to preliminary data, will move to nine months. Official data on the cost of repairs were not called.
"The boilers were manufactured at the request of the Indian side in the Russian Navy used boilers, which are used as fuel oil. Indian side has made a request to use boilers that run on diesel fuel," - said Dyachkov meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, dedicated situation with the aircraft carrier.
According Djachkov work Boiler Design Bureau was conducted in the Russian Federation, and the boilers were manufactured at the Baltic Shipyard. "During the trial in the vessel wall boilers are not technically able to develop full speed. They were tested for a maximum capacity of 40%. When first entering the large capacity of up to 100% was observed partial collapse of refractory masonry in boiler furnaces," - he said.
Sextons explained that during testing at sea by displaying alternately boilers out of action has been renovated this clutch, but, nevertheless, subsequent goes to the great power it is again partially collapsed.
Responding to a question Rogozin, which used materials Dyachkov said that it was "fire clay bricks made in China." "Unfortunately, the Russian production of this material has been lost," - declared the president of USC.
Previously, the official representative of the nonprofit organization "Chrysotile Association" told RIA Novosti that the failure of the elements of power plant "Vikramaditya", apparently related to the replacement of asbestos insulation to the insulation of refractory bricks.
Initiative to replace asbestos in the construction of insulating units, according to the press of the Indian side. The reason for this was the influence of asbestos on human health.
Aircraft carrier "Vikramaditya" (formerly heavy aircraft carrying cruiser "Admiral Gorshkov") was a major reconstruction in the Russian shipyard "Sevmash". The ship has a flight deck and a springboard for the takeoff of the MiG-29K is equipped with modern facilities inside the carrier extend new cable lines with total length of more than 2 thousand kilometers. The ship received new navigation and radar systems, complex communication and control aircraft.

why the hell they bought chinese $hit at first place?:hitwall:

Chose the "Made in China brick is one thing and know how use its properly is another thing", we have no problem with our floating casino :azn:

But I still love how people bash "made in Chinese" product and still buy its...you Indians are so pathetic...buy Chinese brick for your military toy such AC .

why the hell they bought chinese $hit at first place?:hitwall:
The same reason everyone buys Chinese-cost. If India/Russia hadn't the carrier would cost EVEN MORE! There is no harm in using non-system critical compaonts sourced from China that is what globization is all about why reinvent the wheel?

Because they are universal, they are cheap, cant just ignore them.

for national security why India didn't as brick made in India for the boiler, it's even more cheaper than china made?:P

Tejas, Arjun, Space flight, aircraft carrier, FGFA... What is next and when will India's unfulfilled promises ever end

Dude..one failure is mother of sucess but with several failures that' will be Grand-Mother of sucess :P, more fails better will be the future of sucess...well I guess..sound logic to me

This is really hilarious, not the story itself but the uncanny ability of several Chinese defence forum members to accurate predict the explanation for the boilers' malfunction. As soon as the Russians cited the bricks as the cause several CD members made the tongue-in-cheek comment,"Oh no, the Russians are going to blame us for it."

Indians don't seem to have many choices。

If the story is true,Indians must learn to ask the Russians to pay for better “Chinese bricks”,for similar “Bricks” are working fine on a much more powerful ship。Gee,Indians can't even make their own “bricks”。:woot:

Anyway,it is good to know that India has China to “blame” for its utter failure。

Well, as always, the easiest way out of this engine failure is to look for a "scapegoat" like put the blame on Chinese made bricks this time. China seems to be at the top of list in nowadays world as the best scapegoat, sad but true.
Sometimes it make me wonder or in fact quite worry, as i heard the retail giant Walmart is going to open stores in India in a couple of yrs, since they sell a large portion of Chinese goods on their shelf, probably more than 40% like in US. and "Shoot", by then, AC went off in office buildings, blame Chinese made air-filters, refrigerators failure, blame Chinese made wire or perhaps a sore butt after finishing an "call of nature, blame Chinese made toilet paper etc, etc and will go on like a never ending typical Indian story

Now we know that neither the Russians nor the Indians can make their own “bricks”。

There would never be a need to use the armed forces against the Indians, for the latter will soon be made “extinct” by defect Chinese goods that are about to inundate India's streets and neighbourhoods with the opening of giant malls by foreign multi-nationals such as Wal-mart and Tesco。:undecided:
