China's Huawei wins bid to build Malaysia-Cambodia-Thailand undersea communications cable - People's Daily Online

PHNOM PENH, May 25-- China's Huawei Marine Networks, a global submarine network provider, said on Monday that it won a bid to build the Malaysia-Cambodia-Thailand (MCT) undersea cable system.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Cambodia's Telcotech and Symphony Communication of Thailand are the members of the consortium.

Spanning approximately 1,300 km, the MCT cable system will provide connectivity between Cherating in Malaysia and Rayong in Thailand with a branching unit connecting from the main trunk into Sihanoukville in Cambodia, Huawei said in a statement, adding that access to neighboring counties such as Laos and Myanmar will be achieved through further connection to terrestrial based networks.

"We're honored to partner with our customers and start working on the development and construction of the MCT optical superhighway to deliver state-of-the-art infrastructure which will contribute to the economic growth and development of the Indochina region,"said Ma Yanfeng, vice president of Huawei Marine Networks.

The MCT cable system adopts the latest 100G technology with a total design capacity exceeding 30 Tbps. The system will be commissioned and ready for commercial service by the end of 2016.

According to a statement released by Telcotech on Monday, the project, estimated to cost some 70 million U.S. dollars, will be the first time for Cambodia to be connected to the region by a submarine cable.

Telcotech cambodia...holy cow, how much huawei bribed to their CTO? I know their CTO personally, he is telugu guy from andhra. I don't want to tell his name, even our company won multiple deals with telcotech cambodia, by paying him a huge amount.

and your point being``` as primitive India got call center deals from Cambodia as same as Huawei got the deal of laying down a complete undersea cable system where actual high tech stuff invloved? :D
Our company implemeted their entire switching and optical network across cambodia, from phnom penh to seam reap. At present our company completed their DWDM network implementation.

Huawei is also matured in these areas, but we clinched the deal... Our company dont have the technology for under sea cabling. So huawei clinched the deal easily.

Any way without giving something to their CTO you won't get any deal. As i worked with them for 6months and know their CTO personally, i know about telcotech better than anyone here.

A telugu speaking indian is their CTO. You have any idea about the role of a CTO? or just another keyboard warrior?

Huawei and PLUMgrid Partner to Automate OpenStack for SDN and NFV with Compass

Automated Installation of PLUMgrid Open Networking Suite with Compass Reduces Time to Production for Operators Deploying OpenStack

MAY 17, 2015 08:00 PM EDT

SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PLUMgrid, a leading innovator in virtual network infrastructure for OpenStack® clouds, is partnering with leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solution provider Huawei to upstream open source automation software to StackForge that self-installs PLUMgrid Open Networking Suite (ONS) through Huawei Compass, enabling simplified deployment of OpenStack for SDN and NFV.

PLUMgrid and Huawei partnered to deliver fully integrated and automated installation of PLUMgrid ONS through Compass. Streamlining OpenStack compute, storage and networking deployment is critical to the success of enterprises and service providers. Automated "zero touch" software installations not only expedite time to production but also significantly improve operational efficiency by minimizing manual intervention and eliminating configuration errors.

Compass, an open source project contributed by Huawei, provides deployment-as-a-service for bare metal machines. Supporting Huawei and third-party data center hardware, Compass offers topology-aware OpenStack service deployment that eases the configuration and management of physical and virtual network elements. With an intuitive graphical interface for user navigation, Compass also includes a set of RESTful APIs for operators to discover, configure and manage hardware and software-based resources to stand up OpenStack clouds.

With automated installation for PLUMgrid ONS, operators using Compass can quickly gain the benefits of secure and scalable virtual network infrastructure. PLUMgrid ONS provides private Virtual Domains that act as network containers, separating tenant traffic for security and policy enforcements. Each Virtual Domain runs a set of virtual network functions (VNFs), customized and configured through service chaining to meet the needs of each tenant or application.

Through the partnership and the resulting software available to the open source and user communities, operators will benefit by being able to leverage Compass and PLUMgrid ONS immediately to accelerate the deployment of scalable OpenStack cloud infrastructures.

What do you mean by "primitive India"?
If India with a percapita income a fifth of China is primitive, than China with a percapita income a seventh that of US, is far more primitive from an Americans view point.

I am sure you wouldn't like an American calling you "primitive China."
China and US gap is not big. But india and China gap is too big. You are comparing orange with Apple.
American can live in delusion calling Chinese primitive but that will not change the fact, Chinese are buying their asset and even set record IPO launch in NASDAQ. India is distance away from doing that in US.

Not just that, we have our own domestic defense industry which is pretty advanced (not quite there yet compared with US) but if you look at the Indian counterpart it's pretty sad to say the least. Some Indian just can't take it and starts debating about bribery to win a deal.

Its defined by WTO and WB statistics, which categorize India as primitive factor driven economy, whereas China is transforming from efficiency driven economy to innovation driven economy. its a fact, nothing degrading

dont be deluded, your company has no position in world's high end telecom market, or your services are based on direct import of western techs and equipments, whereas companies like Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson and Sisco are the world leading telecom and internet solution provider, who develop customized systems to international clients```

You dont even know the name of my company and you are jumping in to conclusions. But anyway we are just a 10year old company.

FYI... NEC is marketing our equipments all over north america in their brand names. Ciena marketing our equipments at europe in their brand names.

I know huawei is a leader in telecom market, but i never contested that. Asked only about the bribe money to the CTO, isn't?

In what ways is US and China gap not huge?
US- 55k dollars
China- 8k dollars
India- 1.8k dollars

If India primitive for China, then China more primitive for US. The logic is pretty straight forward.
As for US or western assets, India is doing that too, albeit at a small scale.

Huawei unveils latest smartphone device P8 in Dubai

2015-05-27

Chinese ICT giant Huawei has unveiled its new P8 smartphone, which the firm said is aimed to gain a major share in the Middle East region's consumer smartphone market.

The latest smartphone of Huawei's P series, which was released late Sunday, is 6.4mm thin and is a dual SIM.

The new device has "elements of style and strength, delivering a revolutionary user experience, especially in terms of camera and network connectivity," said Jiao Jian, president Huawei Device Middle East.

Jian added that Huawei aims to position the P8 as the most popular smartphone in 2015.

The big smartphone producers Apple (Iphone), Samsung, Blackberry, and China's Lenovo and Huawei are in fierce competition to gain the upper hand on the consumer market.

In the United Arab Emirates, the market is currently dominated by Apple and Samsung, according to the Gulf state's telecom regulator TRA. Nokia, once market leader, declined to a marginal force.

Its OK man, calm down, you must already be aware of how some Chinese members here behave. It's true they consider all their neighbours /rivals (bar those who are too far ahead of them like S Korea, Japan, U. S, west) as barbarians /low class primitive. They also say the same thing about say VIETNAM. So you don't have to get all woke up by this. You are right though, by their own reasoning we in the EUROPE, U. S,Japan, s. Korea, etc should also consider them as primitive backward poor slave labourers (some people here actually consider them just that to be honest. Lol), since we have a farrr higher living standard /income /GDP per capital than they do.
Reason i always find it funny when a developing country makes fun of another, but expect we in the west to respect them meanwhile they still have a quite low GDP per capital /living standard compared to the West /japan.

So in short yes if we use their logic, then China is a primitive country viewed from the U. S/West/Japan. Lol

you are just playing with words kid```just dig-up WIPO's annual report of nations' competitive strength, the facts are really 'appealing' to deluded Indian

Wow the level of idiots here is good now I can research on my topic( the mind of idiots.)
