China to supply 4 attack drones to Pak, prompts India to revive Predator-B plan

Pakistan has pretty talented drone makers and recently drones were exported, being competitive internationally. It is a shame that PAF is choosing to go with a Chinese drone "jointly produced" rather than giving its industry a boost - instead, killing local industry, as with no support from Pakistani buyers, Pakistani drone manufacturers will just die out.

In other countries, infant industries are nursed. In Pakistan, they are murdered. Just like they attempted to murder the JF-17, documented in the interview of AVM Latif.
That's because our stupid planners/leaders both civilian and military get a hard on for imported items. They would rather get imported garbage from Nigeria or Ethiopia than get a local product.

It means that transfer of highly sensitive technology will come, most likely different encryption setup using 512bits may be AES based or 3DES.... or it might be completely different Cipher suite as china and Pakistan are strategic partners, whereas future integration with Chinese Comms using Chinese Spy satellite will be possible...

This is a big development..

Actually they are right on this, we are getting UCAV's from the Chinese. These UCAV's are the most advanced Chinese tech and only available to Pakistan for export.

There is a flaw in your judgement here. This is not mutually exclusive.

While true Pakistan has talented drone makers, we haven't reached the capacity yet to build Advanced Top Notch UCAV that can rival the Predators. These Chinese UCAV's give us that ability immediate to have drones up in the air for longer loiter time but also increased payload.

Pakistan has and will continue to focus on building drones that are more geared towards reconn and surveillance. They both can mutually co-exist together. Due to the challenges faced by us immediately, and the long costs of keeping Fighter Aircraft's and Gunships in the Air, these UCAV's are exactly what we need. In fact, we needed these UCAV 5 years ago.
Sir if you are right and the Drones which China is giving us is not going to be sold to any other country than Drones are not CH 5 or WING LONG II because both are open for exports

We are purchasing both indigenous and foreign drones.

"Jointly produced" means bringing in the local industry to participate. These are complex platforms with mission specialized features (militarized version of the exported Wing Loong) and local industry in Pakistan cannot deliver these without taking a long time and that too on its own.
Starting from scratch is neither feasible nor needed with the local industry which requires more runway to ramp up its capabilities. Working in conjunction with the Chinese will give a boost to the local aviation industry.

MKI wasn't shot down lol
Yes it was and the missile which hit it was shown by your own forces in press conference and also the unfortunate MI 17 which was short that day it was in the Air to rescue pilots of SU 30 but before it could do that it was short down by your own Air Defense.

The PN had floated a MALE UAV bid, but I don't think the PAF or PA are interested in importing at this time -- at least in the CH-4/Wing Loong II-size/payload/range area. The only UAV that'd interest any of the service arms is the CH-5, i.e., a real leap from the stuff we're developing in-house.

@notorious_eagle says news is correct although he also says it isn't WING LONG II. Well my only point is if we are going for Drones than it won't be only 4 it would be at least few dozen.

There's zero evidence and no neutral source ever detailed on an MKI being shot down.
All neutral sources acknowledge that a Mig-21 was taken out but there is literally nothing out there except for pakis making up stories on how a SU-30 was shot down in addition to the Bison.

Thora to ghor kar...
so was the F16 shot down by the indians? what is with is wrong with writing 'Pakistan' if you are Pakistani?
