LONDON - A high-level Chinese delegation - headed by an official of even above the level of minister - is scheduled to visit New Delhi this month, The Daily Mail reported on Monday.

According to details, the Chinese side will seek certain explanations from the Indians about RAW’s funding and training of militants of ETIM at Kunnar, Nuristan, Kandahar and other parts of Afghanistan for not only carrying out terror acts in China’s Xinjiang but for also creating potential threats to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor via Balochistan area.

The Chinese side would talk to Indians officials with solid evidences and would seek strong assurances from New Delhi about immediately and completely withdrawing its support to ETIM militants in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

India would also receive a high-level defence delegation from China. This delegation led General Fan Changlong, one of the vice chairmen of the Central Military Commission which controls the Chinese armed forces and is headed by President Xi Jinping – would visit India in the middle of this month.

Though Indian media portrays this visit as a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China and term it as a move towards enhancing defence ties between India and China, yet the defence analysts believe that during the visit Chinese side would advice Indian counterparts to avoid engaging into any conflict along the Indo-China borders.

It is learnt that after concluding visit to India, General Fan’s delegation will visit Pakistan. The Chinese side is likely to pay exclusive tributes to the Pakistani armed forces for establishing peace in the region as a result of Zarb-e-Azb military operation and comprehensively eliminating whatsoever little presence of ETIM was in border areas of Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

I don't see any point in debating the matter right now. since you seem to be following this story, kindly do provide an update if and when the "explanation seeking" and "giving strong evidence" does take place.

All such previous stories have petered out as nothing but attempts to muddy the water and drag India into a "they do it too" equation. On closer scrutiny, all such previous claims have vanished into thin air.

Explanation or no explanation, damage already done.

Yes, that is what you would like to believe now, wouldn't you. Make an unsubstantiated claim and then hope it sticks. Forget the fact that all such previous claims about Indian sponsorship of terrorism have fallen flat on their face. Nawaz Sharif went to the US with a dossier on India. He was told to stop harbouring terrorists.

Lol so this time around there won't be any Chinese circus at LAC. Pakistan will say "Wow our true brothers China"

But wait

From his Pakistan hideout, Uighur leader vows revenge on China
By Saud Mehsud and Maria Golovnina

DERA ISMAIL KHAN/ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Entrenched in secret mountain bases on Pakistan's border with Afghanistan, Uighur fighters are gearing up for retribution against China to avenge the deaths of comrades in Beijing's crackdown on a separatist movement, their leader told Reuters.

China, Pakistan's only major ally in the region, has long urged Islamabad to weed out what it says are militants from its western region of Xinjiang, who are holed up in a lawless tribal belt, home to a lethal mix of militant groups, including the Taliban and al Qaeda.

China's support to Pak terrorists will cost it dearly

'By extending its support to assist the LeT, China is not helping the cause of containment and eventual destruction of radicalism and terror,' says Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain (retd).

Nations mostly do things in the international environment in support of their national interests; that is an oft repeated truism. However, there would be times that compromise with this may be made in pursuance of an ally's interests without sufficient realisation of a long term fallout.

A nation such as China, on fast track growth, mindful of its international status, internal security compulsions and having a repertoire of futurologists for advice is usually wont to undertaking such support which would be harmful to its future interests.

The case refers to the recent reported Chinese action of blocking United Nations investigation against the release on bail of Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi by a Pakistan court in April, for supposed lack of evidence.

China has cited insufficient information provided by India for its action while all other permanent and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council supported the investigation under UN Resolution 1287.

China needs to realise that it is a signatory to all international protocols on terrorism, but even more importantly during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Beijing, it had jointly accepted with India the need for cooperation in fighting international terrorism.

While China's action is not entirely surprising given its past record of saving Hizbul chief Syed Salahuddin from similar investigation, it is the lack of realisation of the negative effect on its own problems of home grown terror that astounds observers.

Double speak is not something unexpected in international strategic considerations, but the inability to see something staring at you in the face is difficult to comprehend.

China's problem with its Islamic population in Xinjiang is too well known. Its social insensitivity to the population in terms of banning fasting during the holy month of Ramzan and ordering the change of pattern of head scarves for women can only add to the antipathy that the populace already has against Beijing.

The ease with which Islamist terrorists have struck locations deep inside the Chinese mainland should be a reminder that the action-reaction theory works efficiently there. A bustling city like Kunming, hundreds of miles from Xinjiang, was hit by an unconventional terrorist attack using knives just two years ago.

Various institutions and infrastructure projects remain under threat. In the face of this it was expected that China would follow a very prudent policy of countering terrorism, especially of the Islamist label. After all, in Xinjiang, Muslims account for 59 percent of the region's population.

Recent reports of the presence of Uyghur Muslims among Islamic State cadres should also demonstrate how human exfiltration and infiltration is always possible despite the strictest population control measures.

China cannot expect that it will remain impervious to such movement which is inevitably in both directions.

The propensity to play 'good terrorist-bad terrorist' on the lines of its protege Pakistan is actually surprising because China is known to be much more pragmatic and would recognise the fallout.

 This is funny..

Compared to what? The Indian media's histrionics about 'Ispecial Pakistani Army Kommandoes' being deployed to 'protect Dawood Ibrahim'?

Or maybe you think this report is 'funny' compared to the Indian media's histrionics (quoting Indian intelligence sources) about 'Dawood Ibrahim's verified residential addresses in Pakistan', that turned out to be the median on a boulevard, the residence of Ambassador Lodhi, and various other nonsensical addresses around the country ...

Atleast they have replaced circus and get asswhipped by jawans with QUOTE "This is not your bloody area" with use less discussion. Back door both India and China will discuss about Pakistan terror networks and joint venture between the both to stop.

I think China already have info on facts on which India will put it case. If China walks out of their words on Anti terrorism citing evidence then they will be exposed completely. Especially in brics and global community.

Master stoke by India. It's check mate

Wrong number. Try Hafeez Saeed and Zaki-ur Lakhvi. And Osama bin Laden. Also Jalaluddin Haqqani....and so on...

The only 'useless discussion' here is the one Indian's think they'll be having with China about 'joint venture against alleged Pakistani terror networks".

The Chinese already have their 'joint venture against ETIM and terrorism' with Pakistan, with Zarb-e-Azb having driven the overwhelming majority of China focused terror groups into Afghanistan, from where they operate along with the TTP, Islamic State and Baloch terrorists. The shared thread with all these groups is the Afghan government/NDS/ANA refusal to act against them.

So the only 'conversation on cooperation against terrorism' the Chinese will be interested in having with India is one in which India is point blank told to stop supporting the aforementioned terrorist groups through Afghanistan and/or use its influence with the NDS/ANA to force them to end their support for said terrorist groups.

Wrong number. Try Hafeez Saeed and Zaki-ur Lakhvi. And Osama bin Laden. Also Jalaluddin Haqqani....and so on...
Wrong number obviously, since Indian intelligence was bragging about an address for Dawood Ibrahim that turned out to be the grassy median in a boulevard.

Then again, this is still an improvement over the Indian military arresting and interrogating pigeons and chasing UFO's in the skies above Delhi ...
