Western route may be shorter but uneconomical. It will just be a white elephant.

The eastern route through Karachi to Gwadar will be the more profitable.

Don't think there is any new information on this. Pakistan already has a website detailing this.

map removed M2 it seems the map is only chinese invested projects

KP government is working on its part.

KP govt approves Peshawar-DI Khan motorway project
The motorway will be 360 kilometers long and will have six lanes and 19 Interchanges at various points.
The project is estimated to cost 276 billion rupees and it is expected to be completed within four years.

It’s also the first Chinese map that proposes the border between Ladakh and Aksai Chin. Watch this get picked up by Indian media to create a tempest in a tea cup, for the next 25 hour news cycle.

Sounds like China owns pak lands ... them releasing maps which pak govt was afraid of publishing

Were you always this stupid or did a lack of oxygen during COVID rot your brain? Either way apparently drinking cow p1ss won't help, so lay off that.

If you bothered to read I posted the official Pakistani govt website for CPEC detailing every single aspect of it, it's the 4th post. It also contains lots of MAPS.

Nope. Gwadar will remain a backyard fishing village until the Western corridor is completed. In 1890s Karachi also was a backyard fishing village until the British built the Eastern corridor of it's time - meaning the main rail line running along the Indus which connected Punjab and NWFP with the port. That began the rise of Karachi as entire Indus Basin trade began to flow to Karachi. Once Western corridor is completed entire Afghan, Western Pakistan trade will shift to Gwadar simply because it closer. In fact even westerly portions of Punjab and Islamabad will feed into Gwadar. Down the road even Central Asia could spur Gwadar.

The Western route was not given sufficient importance by Nawaz Sharif whose base was Lahore. Now however Western corridor is in full swing. Interesting the Western corridor begins at Islamabad, goes south west to Mianwali, DI Khan in KPK, Zhob in Balochistan to Quetta and finally Gwadar.

Interchange on M1 near Islamabad of Western corridor nearly complete.

Middle section of new M-14 part of Western corridor nearly complete.

Bridge over Indus near Mianwali almost complete. As you guys know Mianwali is associated with Imran Khan and the famous singer Ataullah Isakhelvi.

Yarik section of M-14 in KPK complete.

You are missing a key point while comparing the growth of Karachi and extrapolating it to the Western route to Gwadar.

Eastern Pakistan is densely populated while Western Pakistan is sparsely populated.

Western route will never be economical and sustainable like the eastern route.

The best way is to connect to Gwadar is through the eastern route through Karachi.

Its just a route of ML-1 railways. The good news? Looks like ML-1 will get approved soon by Chinese if this is latest map released by China. Its $9b project. See how they also have railways going up to China border, so that also include in their plans post ML-1 completion.

The bad news? Terrorist attack killing 9 Chinese have delayed CPEC meeting where this project was going to be announced.

Pakistan is expected to be 300 million people in less than 30 years. Where do you think they will all go? Where the economic opportunities are. We need to populate Balochistan especially.

You know I am a history buff. When the Indus rail line was built by British in 1880s connecting Karachi most of the route was desert. After it was built irrigations works and trade increaesed the population along the entire line. Small hamelts became towns, Towns became cities. Now look at it. I am not mistaking it. Your falsely looking at 100 years of economic pull of the eastern corridor laid by the British and then comparing with western corridor which only now is recieving attention. Have a look at map below with line drawn along Pakistan's axis.

All of KPK, Balochistan, Afghanistan and future Central Asia fall within the Western Corridor and Gwadar hinterland. Even parts of Punjab and Islamabad fall within this zone

Once the corridor is up and going it will create it's own population and economic pull. To compare with the eastern corridor which began to take shape under British in 1880s is silly.

Indus Valley State Railway

The Indus Valley State Railway (reporting mark IVSR) was a railway founded in 1871 to provide a rail link between Kotri and Multan and to replace the Indus Steam Flotilla.[1][2] The opening of the line thus connected Karachi with Lahore.
