The first of six C-130J-30s on order by the IAF was rolled out of the paint shop on June 18. This plane (c/n 5638) Serial No. KC-3801 is presently undergoing final configuration modifications with India-specific operational equipment and will be delivered before the end of the year.

So another commeon airplane type betwen the PAF and the IAF. :)

Pakistan has C130 while India is acquiring C130J ... I think C130J is the more advanced version of C130.

We should not think too much about that; and most of them are not front-line warplanes, viz. Mi-17s, SeaKings, Alouette 2/3 apart from MiG-21/F-7.
Just a coincidence.

Just a coincidence.

My thought was that there is the potential for IFF issues, more so under certain Special Ops conditions.

LOL every fighter India buys .. i see a comment like target for AMRAAM and target for SAM's..

I think people think there is no need for aircrafts and fighters in this age and only AMRAAMS and SAM's are required..

How pathetic..

Grapes are sour indeed .. ,right?

...does C-130J is an upgraded version of C-130 but that doesnt mean that it has become an Air superiority fighter, still a support and transport AC. Pakistan has designed its weapons systems for its C-130s. AK tanks can be deployed adequately from our current fleet. and thats what it has to do.btw here is the inventory
C-130B
C-130E
C-130E (ex-Australian)
L-100-20
First 7 C-130B delivered by the U.S. in early 1960s, a further 4 C-130B and 5 C-130E delivered later from Iran, 2 civilian versions (L-100-20) transferred from PIA and 2 more ex-USAF C-130B models. All surviving B and E model aircraft modified with addition of Allison T56-A-15 turboprops and extended fatigue lives by Lockheed-Georgia Co. at Marietta by 1987. At least 7 attritional losses pre-1988 and 1 more in 1988.

Sale of 6 ex-Australian C-130E with wing/engine/avionics upgrades, plus 1 aircraft for spare parts, concluded with U.S. in September 2004.First aircraft delivered October/November 2005. Avionics upgrades for the PAF's entire C-130 fleet also included, upgrades progressing as of 1 May 2009.

During the 1965 war, modifications to enable rear ramp opening at speeds above 150 knots enabled C-130s to be used for night-time bombing of moderately defended targets.
