Budget for armed forces should be audited: Imran Khan – The Express Tribune

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan joined the chorus in critisicing the government over the budget presented for the year 2012-13, by condemning the amount allocated to the armed forces. “The budget for the armed forces should be audited.”
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad on Sunday, Khan said that in order to stop corruption, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should be allowed to operate “freely”.
He questioned the expenditure for maintaining chief minister houses in all four provinces. “We have four CM houses while the people are starving.”
“The people in power should pursue austerity,” said the PTI chairman. “They should restrict their expenses.”
Khan said that corruption in Pakistan has reached its saturation point. “Either corrupt people will survive or Pakistan will. Corruption in Pakistan has reached a point where they cannot co-exist.”
He alleged that corruption in different government-run cooperations amounted to billions of rupees. “The deficit in Pakistan Steel Mills has reached more than Rs40 billion in the last four years, while corruption done in Pakistan International Airlines and Pakistan Railways is not hidden, too.”
“The outstanding arrears which are a result of 400,000 illegal connections as noted by the Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) have to be borne by the consumers in the shape of tariff hikes,” said Khan.
He said that according to a survey conducted by Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda), in the last four years, about 2.8 million air conditioners were bought, while bills for only 185,000 were being paid.

The only departments, sections or Institutes etc. that needs to be audited are the ones which are under Govt., part of Govt. & working for the Govt. The only people who need to be audited are these bastard spineless politicians who have robbed & looted Pakistan in broad day light. It seems Musharraf was right about you that “he only knows how to play cricket & he does not know Governance”. There is too much corruption in armed forces, even during earthquake every hawaldar made millions and u can estimate for higher officers to be more
We pay lot of pensions for retired people, i think we should make them work for that pay rather than sitting at home so they can contribute in development of country
We should investigate and audit all retired and current forces employes and their relatives and families to find out corruption
The best thing is make national audit and investigate unit for forces and any body should tell about any wrong doing to be rewarded so there can be efficient use of resources and we can gain fruitful results

Auditing wouldn't take any funds unjustly from the army.....it would just minimise wastage.
since PA as it is , is short of funds it should be a welcome move
But Auditing is only viable under an honest govt.............a dishonest govt may keep the extra money obtained from the army for itself.....

The Army's budget is audited down to Unit level

First, there is the Periodic Audit where auditors from the CMA oversee all transactions.
Secondly, the Test Audit where the periodic audit is audited over again by different auditors.
Lastly, there is the Super Audit, where randomly selected units have their audit reports reviewed by CMA.

All this per every YEAR!

All transactions are overseen by civilian accountants that are attached by the MoD to each unit and any inconsistency no-matter how meagre is the subject of stringent investigation and a Court of Inquiry is formed to establish who is responsible. There was this Lieutenant who failed to pay Rs.300 of his mess bill before he was posted out from Multan, as a consequence of which he was awarded a Severe Displeasure Recordable which effectively put a full stop at his chances of being promoted over the rank of Major. Field Intelligence and Field Action units of the MI oversee the behaviour of troops and officers, any unbecoming behaviour or short-comings in finances are reported, the persons booked by the Military Police and the accused is summarily dismissed until the Court of Inquiry announces their hearings.

Imran Khan is now in the big league, the least he can do is consult with a 'Fauji' before passing such statements so that he doesn't come across as an ignorant fool. It's no surprise that the Army has very stringent record-keeping, audit and accountability, after all, they are marked among the top 3 most transparent institutions in Pakistan.

Source? Proof? If a Hawaldar made 'millions', then we can safely say that all 500,000+ members of the Armed Forces together made Trillions. Congratulations, the Pakistan Army just contributed more to the country's economy! Than the economy itself is worth! These guys continue to amaze!

Its not dam , indian army , in which crouption is still found on ,reguler bassis ?
From the time of george farnandis(kargil) , till few days, before today, a gentlemen soilder (Indian army chief) have to retire , early just because, he was telling , the hidden naked! Truth about, crouption of the politicians, in army ,s buying of , its needed trucks?
